What is the RDL ST-VOX1?
The RDL ST-VOX1 is a STICK-ON audio controlled relay that switches equipment when a voice signal is present. It suits intercom, talkback and radio push-to-talk applications.
How does it work?
The relay can be triggered from mic or line level signals, and in intercom or talkback systems it may be triggered directly from an unbalanced microphone. Where the microphone must be preamplified, RDL pairs it with the RDL STM-1 preamp, using the STM-1 unbalanced output to trigger the ST-VOX1 and its balanced output for the audio feed. A precise threshold adjustment sets the trigger level, and DPDT contacts handle the switching. An open-collector SLAVE output can control additional equipment.
