What is the RDL STM-1?
The RDL STM-1 is a compact STICK-ON microphone preamplifier with a fixed 50 dB of gain for commercial sound and broadcast applications. It brings any mic-level signal up to line level where a larger or heavier preamp will not fit.
How does it work?
The input accepts high or low impedance microphones, at 500 Ω balanced or 5 kΩ unbalanced, and provides filtered 24 Vdc phantom per IEC 61938. Two outputs deliver +4 dBu balanced and -10 dBV unbalanced signals. The module runs from 24 Vdc, and operation from 12 Vdc is possible with a 6 dB reduction in headroom. For intercom applications the input will operate directly from a speaker, and RDL pairs the STM-1 with the ST-VOX1 for voice-operated switching.

- RF-filtered inputs and outputs — Filtering on the inputs and outputs helps reject radio frequency interference.
- 24 Vdc or 12 Vdc operation — The preamp runs from 24 Vdc or from 12 Vdc with 6 dB less headroom.
