What is the RDL SF-UN1?
The RDL SF-UN1 is a USB to Dante network interface that converts a stereo USB digital audio source to two Dante channels. It connects a computer or other USB audio source to a Dante network while keeping the signal in the digital domain. The module is PoE powered and requires no special software for setup. It is a simple way to bring presentation, playback or streaming audio into networked conference room and venue systems.
How does it work?
The SF-UN1 automatically detects a valid USB input, then decodes, re-clocks and transmits the audio to the Dante network. Left and right USB audio channels become two Dante network channels. USB input sample rates of 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz are supported, and automatic sample rate conversion feeds the Dante output. The Dante output can be set to 44.1, 48, 88.2 or 96 kHz at 24 bits. Digital sources remain in the digital domain through the Dante network output, avoiding an extra analog conversion stage. The input is a USB Type B receptacle. The SF-UN1 is powered by Class 0 IEEE 802.3af PoE, and a green LED on the front confirms valid PoE power and Dante sync. The durable all-metal SYSFLEX enclosure is designed for free-standing, surface-mounted or rack-mounted operation. Mount it in a rack with the SF-RA1 SysFlex rack adapter or under a table with the SF-UCB2 under-counter bracket pair, and pair it with a Dante amplifier such as the RDL SF-NP40D.
