What is the RDL RU-NMP44?
The RDL RU-NMP44 is a Dante and AES67 network mixing processor with six virtual 4x1 mixers controlled by network commands. Each mixer can act as a mixer, source selector, priority paging inserter or volume control. Four mixer outputs feed Dante channels and two drive balanced line-level outputs, so one module handles zone mixing, paging priority and level control in commercial systems.
How does it work?

Four Dante network inputs feed each of the six virtual mixers, with level adjustment in 1 dB steps on every input and on each mixer output. Two mixers can be paired for stereo audio. When ducking is used, one network input is assigned as the priority input and connected to all six mixers. An audio detector with installer-defined threshold and recovery delay can be assigned to any mixer, attenuating the other inputs to a fixed level between -10 and -64 dB during a page. Selectable high-pass filters help reject hum from a paging source. Up to four presets store routing, mixing and level settings and can be recalled by network command, an RDL remote, a switch closure or an open-collector output. The unit can power up to a preset, to its last settings or with all levels off. Configuration uses RDL CONSOLE or other network control software, and RDL network remotes such as the D-NMC1 provide user control. It runs from PoE (Class 0, IEEE 802.3af) or an external 24 Vdc supply; RDL recommends its PS-24AS (USA) or PS-24AX (international) 24 Vdc supply. RDL wall plates such as the DB-RN22 make convenient Dante endpoints for the mixer.
What are the key features?
- Six virtual 4x1 mixers — Each mixer takes all four Dante inputs with independent levels.
- Dante and line outputs — Four mixer outputs feed Dante channels and two feed balanced line outputs.
- VOX priority ducking — Assignable automatic ducking with adjustable threshold, attenuation and recovery.
- Four presets — Stored routing and level configurations recalled by network, remote or contact closure.
- 1 dB step levels — Input and output levels adjustable in 1 dB steps.
- PoE or 24 Vdc — Operates from 802.3af PoE or an external 24 Vdc supply.
Where is it typically used?
- Conference rooms and boardrooms
- Multi-zone paging and background music
- Houses of worship
- Training rooms and classrooms
- Government and commercial facilities

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the RU-NMP44 configured?
With RDL CONSOLE or other network control software over the Dante network.
Can the RU-NMP44 do paging priority?
Yes. One Dante input can be assigned as the priority input, and automatic ducking attenuates the other inputs between -10 and -64 dB while a page is detected.
How are presets recalled?
By network command, an RDL network or wired remote, a momentary switch closure or a compatible open-collector output.
What power does it need?
PoE Class 0 (IEEE 802.3af) or an external 24 Vdc supply at 150 mA. RDL recommends the PS-24AS (USA) or PS-24AX (international); the supply is not included.
What warranty does the RU-NMP44 carry?
This product is covered by a 7-year RDL warranty. For warranty claims, RMAs or support, contact Creation Networks at (888) 230-3661 or sales@creationnetworks.net.
