What is the RDL RU-MLA2T?
The RDL RU-MLA2T is a dual-channel microphone and line preamplifier with a studio-quality audio output transformer on each output. Inputs and outputs connect on front-panel XLR jacks or rear-panel detachable terminal blocks, and both are active at all times. Each input is switch-selectable for mic or line, with two mic gain ranges and switchable 24 V phantom power. It works as a stereo preamplifier or as two independent mono preamps in conference, worship and training systems.
How does it work?

Rear-panel switches on each input select MIC or LINE level, LO or HI mic gain, and 24 Vdc phantom on or off. The two mic gain settings cover a wide variety of dynamic and condenser microphones, from -65 dBu to -3 dBu input levels. Each output has its own rear-panel switch to set mic or line level, and outputs may be wired balanced or unbalanced. Crosstalk between channels is below the noise floor, so the two channels can run as a stereo pair or as separate mono preamps. Front-panel gain trims sit below dual-LED VU meters calibrated to indicate +4 dBu for line-level outputs. The transformer-equipped outputs on the RU-MLA2T add isolation between the preamp and the connected equipment. The module can be rack-mounted with the XLR jacks facing forward or reverse-mounted using the RDL RU-FP1 filler panel/reverse mount kit. Power is 24 Vdc at 80 mA through a terminal block or power jack; RDL recommends the PS-24AX supply, and the RDL RU-MLA2 is the non-transformer version. Rack mounting options include the RU-HRA1 and RC-1UR.
What are the key features?

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the RU-MLA2 and RU-MLA2T?
The RU-MLA2T adds a studio-quality audio output transformer on each output. The RDL RU-MLA2 has active balanced outputs.
Does it provide phantom power?
Yes. Each input has a switch to enable or disable 24 V phantom power for condenser microphones.
Can the front XLR and rear terminals be used together?
Both are active at all times, so connections can be made on either the front XLR jacks or the rear terminal blocks.
Can it be reverse-mounted in a rack?
Yes. RDL states it can be reverse-mounted using the RDL RU-FP1 filler panel/reverse mount kit.
What power does it need?
24 Vdc at 80 mA, ground-referenced. RDL recommends the PS-24AX power supply.
What warranty applies?
This product is covered by a 7-year RDL warranty. For warranty claims, RMAs or support, contact Creation Networks at (888) 230-3661 or sales@creationnetworks.net.
