What is the RDL RU-LB2?
The RDL RU-LB2 is a bi-directional Dante network interface with two line-level inputs and two line-level outputs. It converts two consumer or professional line-level sources to Dante channels and converts two Dante channels back to balanced +4 dBu outputs. Front-panel gain trimmers and dual-LED VU meters make input setup possible without a networked computer at the module. It suits rack rooms, conference tables and equipment closets where analog gear needs to join a Dante audio network.
How does it work?
The line-to-network section accepts unbalanced -10 dBV or balanced +4 dBu sources on detachable terminal blocks. Each input has a front-panel gain trimmer and dual-LED VU meter, so the operating level preserves full headroom with the lowest noise floor. The network-to-line section converts two Dante channels to balanced outputs at +4 dBu for a network level of -18 dBFS. One green front-panel signal LED for each received Dante channel shows audio presence with variable intensity, which simplifies setup in the field. Conversion is 24-bit A/D and D/A, with more than 18 dB of headroom and a noise floor better than 80 dB below operating level. LED indicators show network sync status, and Ethernet Link and Speed indicators sit on the RJ45 connector. The RU-LB2 runs from an external 24 Vdc supply at 120 mA plus connected loads; RDL recommends the PS-24AX, and the RDL RU-LB2P adds PoE. The all-metal RACK-UP enclosure is free-standing, surface-mounted or rack-mounted with the RU-HRA1 or RC-1UR.
