What is the RDL FP-PA18H?
The RDL FP-PA18H is an 18 W Class D power amplifier built with high-temperature components for operation in ambient temperatures from 0 to 70 degrees C. RDL designed it for signage, outdoor enclosures and other installations where limited convection raises the temperature around the electronics.
How does it work?
The balanced line input may be connected unbalanced, and a gain control determines whether the analog limiter only suppresses clipping or the full compressor raises average output power. The output drives one 8 ohm speaker or several speakers presenting an 8 ohm load, and indicators show compression, output activity and power. A 100 to 240 Vac power supply providing 24 Vdc is included; RDL notes the supply itself must be mounted where the ambient temperature does not exceed 40 degrees C. Mount the module with the RDL FP-RRA 19 in. rack adapter, the FP-HRA 10.4 in. rack mount or the DRA-35F DIN rail adapter, or use the RDL FP-PA18 with sleep mode for standard environments.
