What is the RDL EU-RN2ML?
The RDL EU-RN2ML is a wall-mounted Dante or AES67 network interface that puts two audio inputs on the network from a single European electrical box. It provides one front-panel XLR mic or line input and one stereo 3.5 mm mini-jack line input that is summed to mono. The module is PoE powered and configured with RDL CONSOLE or other network control software, with a Q-SYS plug-in available. It suits conference rooms, lecterns and multi-purpose rooms that need a clean mic and laptop audio input at the wall.
How does it work?
The EU-RN2ML fits a standard 60 mm deep European electrical box and ships with a white front panel and cover plate plus a field-installable black front panel laminate. The XLR input is converted to one Dante transmit channel and offers five software-selected gain settings: 35 dB, 45 dB or 59 dB for microphones, and unity or 12 dB for line sources. P48 phantom power can be enabled in software when the XLR input is set for mic level, so condenser and dynamic microphones are both supported. The mini-jack input actively sums the left and right channels to a second Dante transmit channel, with three gain settings optimized around a -10 dBV source. RDL studio-quality preamplifiers sit ahead of the 24-bit A to D converters instead of the generic preamps bundled with typical converters, which keeps noise low. A green front LED confirms valid PoE power and Dante network synchronization, which simplifies commissioning.
