What is the RDL EU-RN20?
The RDL EU-RN20 is a wall-mounted Dante or AES67 interface with two front-panel XLR inputs that accept microphone or line-level sources. Each input feeds its own Dante transmit channel through an RDL studio-quality preamplifier with software-selected gain and P48 phantom power. It fits a standard 60 mm deep European electrical box with the included adapter plate and is PoE powered.
How does it work?
Each XLR input is converted to a separate Dante transmit channel with 24-bit analog-to-digital conversion. Five software-selectable gain settings are provided per input: 35, 45 or 59 dB for condenser or dynamic microphones, and unity or 12 dB for line sources. P48 phantom power, compliant with IEC 61938: 2013, can be software enabled when an input is set for mic level. RDL uses its own mic preamplifiers rather than those bundled with typical A-to-D converters, and specifies equivalent input noise below -126 dBu at 59 dB gain. Frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz (±0.5 dB), with THD+N below 0.1% and CMRR above 65 dB. A green front LED confirms PoE power and Dante synchronization. The module is configured with RDL CONSOLE or other network control software, works with RDL network remote controls and has a Q-SYS plug-in. It ships with a white front panel and cover plate and a field-installable black laminate.
