What is the RDL DB-NLC1R?
The RDL DB-NLC1R is a PoE-powered Dante network remote control that gives users volume adjustment and muting from a wall-mounted rotary knob in a black finish. A circular LED string shows the relative level, and attenuation adjusts in 1 dB steps from 0 to 64 dB. One unit can control one or several compatible RDL products, and several units can track the same zone for multi-location volume control.
How does it work?
The DB-NLC1R connects to a local network that can include compatible RDL audio and control modules as well as Dante devices from RDL and other manufacturers. It sends level commands to network devices that adjust audio and displays the attenuation level they report. The detented rotary encoder includes pre-programmed acceleration, so a quick turn can pull down an unexpectedly high level or feedback; installers refine it in RDL CONSOLE. A momentary knob push mutes the audio, and the mute state appears on every NLC1R assigned to the same device. Pushing again restores the prior level, while turning clockwise ramps up from fully off. RDL notes network bandwidth typically supports up to four remote controls per zone. The unit can also serve as an auxiliary control where an RDL DB-NMC1R screen remote is primary. It mounts in a standard US electrical box with the RDL CP-1B cover plate, DC-1B chassis or SMB-1B surface mount box.
