What is the RDL D-TPRX3A?

The RDL D-TPRX3A is a white Decora-style Format-A receiver and source selector that lets users pick one of three audio sources carried on a single twisted pair cable. It gives meeting rooms, lobbies and classrooms a simple wall-plate interface for choosing program audio feeding a local amplifier.

How does it work?

Three front-panel pushbuttons correspond to Format-A pairs A, B and C; pressing one routes that source to the output and shuts off the previous selection, and pressing it again turns all inputs off. LEDs show the active source, dimming after use and brightening when a button is pressed, and non-volatile memory restores the last selection after a power loss. The output is a +4 dBu balanced line level on a detachable terminal block and may be connected unbalanced, with switching designed to be silent. Bridging inputs let it connect to the loop-out of other receivers, with up to 10 receivers per cable pair. It runs from a local 24 Vdc supply such as the RDL PS-24AX 24 Vdc power supply or remotely through the twisted pair cable from another Format-A module or the RDL FP-TP4PW power inserter.
