Product Overview
The QSC NVM-302D is a Q-SYS network video decoder that receives networked AV-over-IP streams and outputs them over HDMI at resolutions up to 4K60 4:4:4. As a native Q-SYS endpoint, this network video decoder drives displays in hospitality, entertainment, collaboration, and government spaces while integrators manage routing inside Q-SYS Designer Software alongside audio and control. It ships with a single-channel decode app and connects over a single 2.5GBASE-T link with PoE+ power, reducing each display endpoint to one cable. Paired with the companion NVM-302E encoder, it completes a scalable Q-SYS video distribution system.
Product Description

The QSC NVM-302D network video decoder is the display-side endpoint of the Q-SYS NVM Series, converting network video back to HDMI for screens, projectors, and video walls in commercial environments. Its single HDMI 2.0 output transmits video formats up to 4K60 4:4:4 with HDCP 2.3 and 1.4 support when running the pre-installed NVM-D1 decode app, so protected 4K content reaches conference room and digital signage displays without quality loss. Built on the Mediacast AV routing paradigm, the decoder pulls high-quality, low-bandwidth streams from the network, keeping large-scale AV-over-IP deployments efficient across shared IP infrastructure.
Like the rest of the NVM Series, the NVM-302D is deployed natively through the NVM Designer tool in Q-SYS Designer Software, enabling no-code configuration of hundreds of endpoints in minutes without a separate video matrix or management appliance. A single 2.5GBASE-T connection carries video and PoE+ (802.3at) power, simplifying installation behind each display. One RS-232 port and one IR transmit output allow the Q-SYS control engine to drive the connected display or projector directly. The decoder extracts 8-channel PCM audio from HDMI for routing within the Q-SYS audio platform, and includes a USB-C port enabled for AV bridging in a future firmware release. Surface-mount hardware is included, with the optional NV-RACK accessory available for rack-mount installation. Feed the NVM-302D from the companion QSC NVM-302E network video encoder to build a complete encode-and-decode Q-SYS video system.
Key Features
- 4K60 HDMI 2.0 Output — A single HDMI output drives displays at up to 4K60 4:4:4 with HDCP 2.3 and 1.4 support using the NVM-D1 app.
- Pre-Installed Decode App — Ships ready to deploy with the single-channel NVM-D1 decode application.
- Mediacast Network Transport — Receives high-quality, low-bandwidth streams so large-scale AV-over-IP distribution stays efficient on a shared network.
- Native Q-SYS Deployment — Configures inside Q-SYS Designer Software with the no-code NVM Designer tool for hundreds of endpoints without matrix hardware.
- Single-Cable PoE Installation — A 2.5GBASE-T link with PoE+ (802.3at) power reduces each display endpoint to one cable run.
- Third-Party Display Control — One RS-232 port and one IR transmit output drive the connected display or projector from the Q-SYS control engine.
- Routable HDMI Audio — Extracts 8-channel PCM audio from HDMI for full routing within the Q-SYS audio platform.
- Flexible Mounting — Includes surface-mount hardware and supports the NV-RACK accessory for rack-mount installations.
Typical Applications
- Conference Room — Decode networked sources to in-room displays managed alongside audio and control in Q-SYS.
- Commercial Meeting Space — Drive displays across multiple rooms from a centralized Q-SYS video system.
- Boardroom — Output protected 4K content with HDCP support to primary and confidence displays.
- Training Room — Feed instructor and demonstration video to student-facing screens.
- Auditorium — Deliver networked video to house displays and projection endpoints.
- Government Space — Standardize display output across secured, networked rooms managed in Q-SYS.
- Multi-Purpose Room — Reassign which network source appears on each display on demand for events and meetings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the NVM-302D require a Q-SYS Core to operate?
Yes. The NVM-302D is a Q-SYS network video endpoint managed within a Q-SYS system and configured in Q-SYS Designer Software. It is deployed alongside a Q-SYS Core rather than as a standalone decoder.
How is the decoder installed and powered?
Each unit connects over a single 2.5GBASE-T link and is powered by PoE+ (802.3at), so no local power supply is needed at the display. Surface-mount hardware is included, and the optional NV-RACK accessory supports rack installation.
What source equipment does the NVM-302D pair with?
It receives streams from the QSC NVM-302E network video encoder, which encodes HDMI sources onto the network for decode-side output.
Is HDCP-protected content supported?
Yes. The HDMI 2.0 output supports HDCP 2.3 and 1.4 when running the NVM-D1 decode application.
How does audio routing work?
The decoder extracts 8-channel PCM audio from HDMI for routing within Q-SYS. When breakout audio is enabled, the NVM-302D consumes one audio channel; total channel capacity depends on the Q-SYS Core used in the design.
How does it scale for large deployments?
The NVM Designer tool in Q-SYS Designer Software supports no-code deployment of hundreds of endpoints in minutes, and the Mediacast transport keeps network bandwidth efficient.
What warranty applies?
The NVM-302D is covered under QSC's standard Q-SYS product warranty. Contact Creation Networks for current warranty terms and commercial support options.
