Product Overview
The QSC DCIO is a cinema-specific audio interface that serves as the input/output hub for each screen in a Q-SYS-enabled cinema complex. It routes audio from the projector IMB and alternate content sources to a Q-SYS Core over Q-LAN, QSC's network distribution technology, and — together with Q-SYS Cores, DPA-Q amplifiers, and DCS loudspeakers — delivers a full-system approach to cinema audio design. Using Q-SYS Designer with custom UCIs, touchpanels, and mobile apps, operators can configure, control, and monitor theatre audio across every room in a multiplex from one system view.
Product Description
Each DCIO provides the per-screen audio connections a Q-SYS cinema needs: 16 channels of AES/EBU input from the IMB, a mic/line input, a line-level monitor output, and a powered monitor output that can drive a passive monitor speaker. For show control and accessibility, it offers four relay control outputs, hearing-impaired and visually-impaired (HI/VI) outputs, and automation inputs over RS-232 and GPI. By bridging cinema sources into Q-SYS, the DCIO lets a single networked platform manage audio, monitoring, and automation for an entire multiplex cost-effectively. Does the DCIO support HDMI or Dolby/DTS decoding? No. HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2 input/output and Dolby/DTS-HD decoding are features of the DCIO-H version only. The standard DCIO provides AES/EBU, analog, monitor, relay, HI/VI, and automation I/O.
How does it connect to the Q-SYS Core? Over Q-LAN, QSC's networked audio distribution technology, routing IMB and alternate-content audio into the Core.
