Product Description

The SR-1590 features a high-power, long-throw 15-inch (380 mm) low-frequency transducer with a coaxially mounted titanium-diaphragm compression driver on a 3-inch (76 mm) voice coil. The coaxial layout occupies less baffle area than over-under designs, reducing cabinet size while maximizing output, and creates a point-source radiation pattern so all frequencies are aligned through the crossover region for better sound quality.

Because the coaxial driver produces a conical dispersion pattern, the enclosure can be rotated without affecting coverage. The 4-ohm impedance draws more power from the amplifier than an 8-ohm loudspeaker, so object-based immersive formats that dedicate a channel per surround can deliver more power to each loudspeaker from lower-powered multi-channel amplifiers. A 500 W continuous rating and protective crossover circuitry ensure reliability.
