The MS510TXM combines four 1G/2.5G RJ-45 ports, four Multi-Gig/10G RJ-45 ports and two dedicated SFP+ slots, for 140 Gbps of switching capacity and a 104.16 Mpps forwarding rate. The SFP+ slots handle 10G fiber or DAC uplinks to a core switch, leaving all eight copper ports for endpoints.

Its Layer 2 feature set covers 256 VLANs, LACP, Spanning Tree (STP/RSTP/MSTP), DiffServ and 802.1p QoS, Auto-VoIP, and access control lists for L2, L3 and L4. Multicast is handled with IGMP snooping v1/v2/v3, MLD snooping, an IGMP snooping querier and unknown-multicast blocking, which makes it workable for small Dante and AV-over-IP segments. Security features include 802.1X, RADIUS VLAN assignment, DHCP snooping and DoS prevention.
