Product Overview
The Middle Atlantic 5-FAN-K is a two-fan rack fan kit purpose-built for Slim 5 series racks. The pair of 4-1/2 inch fans installs in the top knockouts of the Slim 5 frame or in the top of the rear access panels and together displaces 114 CFM of free air. Four fan guards, a power cable, mounting hardware, and vent blockers are all included to direct airflow where the equipment needs it.
Product Description
Slim 5 racks are frequently installed in credenzas, closets, and other enclosed spaces where heat accumulates fast, and this rack fan kit is Middle Atlantic's factory-matched answer for active exhaust. The kit supplies two 4-1/2 inch fans that drop into the pre-cut top knockouts on a Slim 5 rack frame, or alternatively into the top of the rear access panels, so no cutting or drilling is required. Together the fans displace 114 CFM of free air, pulling heated air up and out of the equipment column. Four fan guards are included to protect fingers and cabling on both sides of each fan, and the supplied vent blockers let the installer close off unused openings to optimize the airflow path through the rack. A power cable and complete mounting hardware round out the kit, and the fans run on standard 120V AC. Each fan measures 4.69 inches square by 1.5 inches deep, keeping the installation low-profile at the top of the frame. Because thermal management directly affects equipment lifespan, specifying this kit at rack build time is far easier than retrofitting cooling after heat problems appear.
