Product Overview

The Meyer Sound Bluehorn 816 is the processor that makes the Bluehorn System what it is. Where a conventional loudspeaker controller applies crossover filters and EQ, the 816 runs Meyer Sound's patented phase-correction processing across the full audible band, holding phase within ±45° from 25 Hz to 22 kHz while keeping frequency response linear. It drives up to three complete Bluehorn channels — each a Bluehorn full-range loudspeaker plus a Bluehorn Subwoofer — from a single 2RU chassis.

Product Description

Audio conversion is 24-bit at a 96 kHz sample rate, with FPGA-based processing that keeps total system latency under 50 ms. The rear panel provides eight gold-plated XLR-F inputs and sixteen gold-plated XLR-M outputs, with two RJ-45 network ports on each side for control and configuration. Because the processor treats a full-range cabinet and its subwoofer as one corrected channel rather than two independently aligned boxes, the crossover region — normally where phase accuracy is lost — stays coherent.

The Bluehorn 816 is required for any Bluehorn deployment and is not a general-purpose loudspeaker processor; for standard Meyer Sound system drive and alignment, see the Galileo GALAXY 816. Additional Meyer Sound residential and cinema products are available in the Meyer Sound Residential collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Bluehorn 816 optional?
No. It performs the phase and frequency correction that defines the Bluehorn System, and is required for every Bluehorn deployment.

Can it process non-Bluehorn loudspeakers?
It is purpose-built for Bluehorn channels. For general Meyer Sound system drive, alignment and Milan AVB distribution, use a Galileo GALAXY processor.

How many loudspeakers does one unit drive?
Up to three Bluehorn channels, each consisting of a Bluehorn full-range loudspeaker and a Bluehorn Subwoofer.

How do I get pricing?
Bluehorn systems are configured per room. Contact Creation Networks for system design and a project quote.
