Product Overview
The Listen Technologies TP-UX is part of the Ampetronic TalkPerfect range, a speech transfer system for service positions separated by glass or a security screen. This part number supplies the TalkPerfect unit on its own, for installers specifying their own microphones and speakers. Full duplex operation with built-in feedback and echo suppression means both parties can speak at once without the system howling, which is the failure mode that makes cheaper window intercoms unusable. A hearing loop output is provided so the same installation also serves telecoil hearing aid users at the counter.
Product Description
Ticket windows, reception screens, pharmacy counters and secure reception positions all create the same problem: a physical barrier that blocks speech, in an environment that is usually noisy. Raising your voice through a glass screen is neither dignified nor effective, and it fails entirely for anyone with hearing loss.
TalkPerfect addresses both sides of that at once. The system carries speech in both directions with signal processing for stability and clarity, and it drives a hearing loop from the same unit. The loop output delivers 2.4A RMS into a minimum 0.3Ω loop with 80Hz to 5.0kHz ±1.5dB response, which is the specification that lets the same counter serve a hearing aid user without a separate loop driver.
Speaker output is 4W per channel at less than 0.5% THD into a 4Ω minimum load, with 100Hz to 6kHz ±3dB response across the speech band. The microphone input is designed for an unbalanced electret capsule with 12V bias, more than 60dB of gain and -124dBu input noise, which is what allows a discreet glass-mounted or pod microphone to work at a counter rather than requiring the user to lean into it.
The unit runs from 12VDC across a 9 to 16VDC range, drawing 3.0W quiescent and 24W maximum, with a 2.0A resettable protection device. At 220 × 116 × 40mm and 630g it mounts inside counter joinery or a small enclosure. Operating range is -30°C to +75°C at 95% relative humidity, IP30 rated.
Microphone and speaker components are ordered to suit the counter: the glass mount microphone fixes directly to the screen, while the stainless pod microphone and stainless pod speaker suit public-facing positions that need to survive handling. Where the counter also requires a hearing loop certificate, verification uses a field strength meter.
Key Features
- Full duplex communication — Both parties speak at once without the system cutting out or howling.
- Feedback and echo suppression — Built-in processing keeps the system stable at usable volume in a noisy public space.
- Integrated hearing loop output — Drives 2.4A RMS into a counter loop, serving telecoil hearing aid users from the same unit.
- 4W per channel speaker output — Delivers less than 0.5% THD into a 4Ω minimum load across 100Hz to 6kHz.
- Electret microphone input — Provides 12V bias and over 60dB gain so a discreet glass or pod microphone works at distance.
- Compact 220 × 116 × 40mm chassis — Mounts inside counter joinery or a small enclosure at 630g.
- Wide operating range — Rated -30°C to +75°C at 95% relative humidity, IP30.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it work through security glass?
Yes. TalkPerfect is designed for service positions separated by glass or a security screen, carrying speech in both directions with processing for stability and clarity.
Does it also serve hearing aid users?
Yes. A hearing loop output is integrated, delivering 2.4A RMS into a minimum 0.3Ω loop with 80Hz to 5.0kHz ±1.5dB response, so a separate counter loop driver is not required.
What microphone should I specify?
A glass mount microphone fixes directly to the screen and is the least obtrusive option. Stainless pod microphones suit public-facing positions that take handling. The input is designed for an unbalanced electret capsule with 12V bias.
What power supply does it need?
12VDC across a 9 to 16VDC range, drawing 3.0W quiescent and 24W maximum, with a 2.0A resettable protection device.
Where is the amplifier mounted?
Inside counter joinery or a small enclosure. At 220 × 116 × 40mm and 630g it does not require rack space.
Will feedback be a problem at high volume?
Feedback and echo suppression are built into the signal processing, which is what allows full duplex operation at usable volume in a noisy public space.
What warranty and support apply?
Warranty duration and technical support terms are set by Listen Technologies. Contact Creation Networks for current terms, RMA handling and pre-sales design support on speech transfer installations.
