What is the Kramer VIA Connect PLUS?
The Kramer VIA Connect PLUS is a wireless presentation and collaboration device with an HDMI wired input. Meeting participants connect their own laptops and mobile devices through the Kramer VIA app to present, stream full HD video, share files and annotate content on the main display, while the HDMI input accepts a cabled source such as a laptop, camera or media player. It is a wireless presentation system for huddle spaces, conference rooms and classrooms.
How does the Kramer VIA Connect PLUS work?
Users join over the same LAN or Wi-Fi network by entering the room name shown on the main display, with an optional on-screen code, then click Present to share their screen. iOS and Android devices can mirror to the main display, and video streams wirelessly in full HD up to 1080p60, with an integrated YouTube player for playlists and drag-and-drop playback. Participants can view the main display on their own device, chat, share files of any size, use a whiteboard to annotate and edit, and give another participant control of a presenter's Mac or PC laptop.
The unit connects to one display at a time through HDMI or Mini DisplayPort, and provides USB 3.0 ports for a keyboard, mouse or other devices, a 3.5mm audio output for powered speakers and a LAN port; Wi-Fi functions use a USB-to-Wi-Fi dongle. Security features include user authentication, 1024-bit data encryption and a dynamic room code. VIA Site Management (VSM) monitors and controls VIA devices on the network, and a streaming output sends collaboration activity to an H.264 decoder. Digital signage is available as an optional license. It ships with a wall mounting kit and a 19V DC power adapter, and Kramer's RK-CONNECT-PRO rack adapter supports VIA Connect PLUS for rack installations.
