What is the Kramer RC-63DLN control keypad?
The Kramer RC-63DLN is a 6-button KNET control keypad with a digital volume knob and two LCD displays, supplied here in the US-size black design frame (part number 80-80237295). It works as a standalone room controller or as part of a multi-unit KNET system, giving classrooms and meeting rooms simple wall-mounted control of displays, sources, screens and shades. For integrators standardizing on a compact in-wall AV control keypad, it combines source selection, volume control and device control ports in a single 2-gang unit.
How does the Kramer RC-63DLN work?
The RC-63DLN connects over KNET to a master room controller and auxiliary keypads, and a single KNET link cable carries both power and keypad communication. The six RGB-color backlit buttons are grouped as four SOURCES buttons and two DISPLAY buttons, and each has a removable cap that can be custom labeled for the room. A bidirectional rotary knob adjusts volume, with a 5-LED bar giving users visual level feedback, while two 8-character program-configurable LCD displays show group labels.
On the back, the keypad provides one bidirectional RS-232 port, one IR emitter port and two relay ports, so it can drive a display, projector screen or other device directly. A built-in IR sensor learns commands from existing IR remotes. Programming is done with Kramer K-Config software, and a mini USB port is used to upload configuration files, set the KNET ID and power the unit during setup. Keypad lock-out prevents tampering in shared or student-facing spaces.
Kramer notes that supply of the RC-63DLN is limited and the model will be discontinued when global inventory is depleted, so it is a good fit for expanding or maintaining existing RC-63DLN deployments. For new larger rooms, the Kramer RC-74DL 12-button Ethernet keypad adds more buttons and Ethernet connectivity, and the Kramer RC-306 6-button PoE keypad is another compact option.
