The SL-240C runs the same Kramer Control brain software as the larger SL-280, with the same logical flexibility for room automation — the difference being 16 I/O ports versus 32. Four RS-232 ports on 3-pin terminal blocks support bidirectional serial control of displays, projectors, and audio amplifiers. Four IR emitter outputs and a built-in IR receiver for command learning handle IR-controlled devices. Four GPI/O ports, programmable per port as digital input, digital output, or analog input, support occupancy sensors, door contacts, and lighting control interfaces. Four relay outputs on 2-pin terminal blocks handle contact closure for motorized projection screens and shading. Power over Ethernet via the RJ-45 connector delivers both data and power from the network switch, with an optional external 5V DC power supply available for additional resiliency. A mini USB port is available for firmware upgrades. LED indicators on all ports provide commissioning and diagnostic status at a glance.
