Product Overview

The Kramer RC-74DL is a 12-button in-wall control keypad with volume knob and LCD displays, designed for conference rooms, boardrooms, and auditoriums where a single, comprehensive room controller is needed at the wall. It connects via Ethernet to Kramer's Site-CTRL platform for network-managed AV control, via KNET to Kramer master room controllers and auxiliary keypads, and includes RS-232, RS-485, GPI/O, relay, and IR ports for direct device control — making it equally capable as a standalone room controller or as part of a larger multi-zone system. AV integrators use the RC-74DL in complex multi-device spaces where users need tactile button control over AV routing, displays, lighting, shading, and audio volume from a single, elegantly mounted keypad. It mounts in standard 3-gang US wall junction boxes and is programmed via Kramer K-Config software.

Product Description

The RC-74DL's 12 RGB-backlit buttons are grouped into three sections, each with a dedicated blue LCD display showing programmable labels — providing users with clear, context-aware labeling for every button function. Custom-labeled, removable button caps allow integrators to create polished, end-user-friendly interfaces without visible blank keys. The bidirectional rotary digital volume knob with 5 LED indicators provides intuitive audio level adjustment directly from the keypad. Three RS-232 ports on terminal blocks enable direct serial control of displays, projectors, and processors alongside the KNET and Ethernet connections. Two IR emitter outputs and one built-in IR receiver (for command learning) extend control to IR devices throughout the space. Four relay outputs on terminal blocks handle contact closure for projection screens, motorized shading, and blinds. Two GPI/O ports support sensors, door locks, and occupancy-based automation. A mini USB port serves configuration file uploading, KNET ID assignment, and device power during programming. The optional keypad lock-out feature prevents unauthorized tampering during scheduled events.

Key Features

  • 12 RGB-Backlit Buttons with LCD Labels — Three groups of four buttons, each with a dedicated 8-character LCD display for programmable, context-aware labeling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the RC-74DL operate as a standalone room controller?

Yes. The RC-74DL can function as a standalone room controller with its own RS-232, RS-485, IR, relay, and GPI/O ports, programmed entirely via K-Config software without requiring a separate master controller.

What is KNET and how does it connect to a master controller?

KNET is Kramer's proprietary two-wire serial bus for connecting control keypads and auxiliary controllers to Kramer master room controllers. The RC-74DL's two KNET ports allow daisy-chaining with other KNET-compatible devices in a single room system.

Does the RC-74DL support Kramer Control?

The RC-74DL connects to Kramer Site-CTRL over Ethernet for network management. It is programmed with K-Config software. For Kramer Control-based systems, consider the RC-306 or RC-308 PoE keypads which are natively designed for Kramer Control integration.

What wall box does the RC-74DL require?

The RC-74DL mounts in standard US 3-gang in-wall junction boxes. A mud ring and installation hardware are included.

Is the RC-74DL available in multiple colors?

Yes. The RC-74DL is available in black (RC-74DL(B)), grey (RC-74DL(G)), and white (RC74DL(W)) finishes to match room design requirements.
