What is the Kramer EXT3-U3-R USB 3.2 extender receiver?
The Kramer EXT3-U3-R is the device-side receiver of Kramer's EXT3-U3 USB 3.2 Gen 1 extender system. It converts the CATx signal from an EXT3-U3-T transmitter back to USB 3 and works as a hub for up to three USB devices, up to 100m from the host. It lets integrators put a 5Gbps USB camera, capture device or touch display at the far end of a room while the computer stays in the rack.

How does the Kramer EXT3-U3-R work?
The EXT3-U3-T transmitter converts the host's USB 3.2 Gen 1 signal into a CATx signal based on HDBaseT USB. The EXT3-U3-R receives it over one CAT cable and presents three USB-A device ports through its integrated hub, supporting USB 3.2 Gen 1 as well as legacy USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices.
The system supports interrupt, bulk and isochronous transfers, so video streaming cameras, capture devices, storage and HID peripherals all work without drivers or configuration. RS-232 and the FSYNC camera frame synchronization signal are extended alongside USB.
When the receiver is powered by its own power supply, it can fast-charge connected peripherals. Power is delivered over the CATx cable, so only one end of the link needs a power source.

What are the key features of the Kramer EXT3-U3-R?
- Three USB device ports — Integrated hub at the device end of the link.
- USB 3.2 Gen 1 at 5Gbps — Handles high-throughput cameras and capture devices.
- Up to 100m reach — Long CAT runs from host to devices.

Frequently Asked Questions
What transmitter does the EXT3-U3-R need?
It pairs with the EXT3-U3-T at the host. Both are also sold together as the EXT3-U3-KIT, and the units can pair with other HDBaseT USB3 (VS6320-based) products.
How many USB devices can I connect?
Up to three, through the receiver's integrated hub.
Will it charge connected devices?
Yes. It fast-charges peripherals when the receiver is powered by its own power supply.
Is it suitable for USB cameras?
Yes. Isochronous transfers and FSYNC pass-through make it suited to conferencing and production cameras such as the Kramer K-CAM4K.
What are the USB 2.0 alternatives?
Compare the Kramer KDS-USB2-DEC network USB decoder or the KDS-USB2 kit.
