What is the Kramer TP-752R receiver?
The Kramer TP-752R is an HDMI ultra-reach receiver that extends 1080p HDMI signals up to 600m (2000ft) over any 2-wire cable. It accepts the signal on a terminal block, an RJ-45 (CAT) connector or a 15-pin HD (VGA) connector, so existing long-distance or legacy cabling can carry HDMI without new cable pulls. It is a long-distance HDMI extender receiver for campuses, venues and retrofit projects where the display is far from the source.
How does the Kramer TP-752R work?
The TP-752R pairs with the Kramer TP-752T transmitter. The transmitter sends 1080p HDMI and RS-232 over a 2-wire link, and the TP-752R restores the HDMI signal on its HDMI output. Three input connector options let installers reuse what is already in the building: a 2-pin terminal block for common 2-wire cable, RJ-45 for typical long runs over CAT, or a 15-pin HD connector to carry HDMI over legacy VGA infrastructure.
Audio is de-embedded from the transmitted signal and made available as S/PDIF digital audio and balanced stereo analog audio, while still passing on the HDMI output, so a local amplifier or DSP can be fed directly. Bidirectional RS-232 extension allows a display to be controlled from the source end, or a source from the display end. The system is plug-and-play with no setup required, and the compact fan-less MegaTOOLS enclosure can be surface mounted or installed two side-by-side in 1U with a rack adapter such as the Kramer RK-T2B-B rack adapter for MegaTOOLS.
For 4K over standard CAT cable, the Kramer TP-580R HDBaseT receiver is an alternative.
