Product Overview

The Poly Trio C60 Microsoft Teams conference phone (849B6AA#ABA) is a smart IP conference phone for medium and large conference rooms standardized on Microsoft Teams. Three MEMS microphones give 360-degree pickup out to a 20 ft range, and optional expansion microphones daisy-chain up to three units when a longer table needs more coverage. The phone draws IEEE 802.3at Class 4 PoE on LAN IN and acts as 802.3af power sourcing equipment on LAN OUT, so a single drop can feed the phone and one downstream device. This Full Radio configuration includes dual-band Wi-Fi and integrated Bluetooth for rooms where an additional data drop is impractical.

Product Description

Poly builds the Trio C60 in two firmware configurations on identical hardware. This order code, 849B6AA#ABA, is the Microsoft Teams build: it presents the Teams interface on a 5-inch 720 x 1280 touchscreen for one-touch join and in-room dialing, and HP's specification sheet lists bundled Polycom UC Software with support for Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business. If the rooms in question register to a standards-based IP PBX or a hosted SIP provider instead, the Open SIP build of the same phone is the correct part to order. Provisioning uses Poly Zero Touch Provisioning and HTTPS secure provisioning, with 802.1X authentication and TLS 1.2 on the network side, and ongoing monitoring runs through Poly Lens.

Power budgeting is the first item to settle on an install. LAN IN requires a full Class 4 (IEEE 802.3at) input, so a switch port budgeted at Class 3 will not bring the phone up reliably — size the port accordingly, or specify the Poly Trio C60 power supply kit for rooms with no PoE available. The two RJ-45 ports form a 10/100/1000BASE-TX switch, and LAN OUT is auto-sensing 802.3af power sourcing equipment for a downstream device such as a room PC or a second endpoint. For fixed-furniture installs where the cable is dressed through a table grommet, the Poly Trio RJ45 shielded CAT-5 cable in 2 m and 7.6 m are the vendor-supplied lengths.

Coverage scales with the Poly Trio C60 expansion microphones, which daisy-chain up to three from the console for boardrooms and long tables; the earlier Trio 8300/8800 expansion microphones are a separate accessory and are not interchangeable with the C60. The Trio C60 also serves as an audio peripheral rather than a standalone phone: a USB 2.0 Micro-B device port lets it operate as a USB audio device and content-sharing input for a room PC, and Poly's VideoOS compatibility guide lists Trio as a supported audio device for the Poly G7500 codec and Poly Studio room systems in Poly Video mode. Two constraints apply to that pairing: Trio cannot be used when the room system runs Wi-Fi as its primary network, and Microsoft Teams Rooms deployments support one Trio per system.

Key Features

  • Native Microsoft Teams Build — This order code ships the Teams firmware configuration, so the phone presents the Teams interface and one-touch join without a separate room PC application.
  • Three MEMS Microphones, 20 ft Pickup — A 360-degree array covers a 6.1 m radius, which suits most medium and large conference room tables without additional hardware.
  • Expansion Microphone Support — Up to three Poly Trio C series expansion microphones daisy-chain from the console to extend pickup along a longer boardroom table.
  • Class 4 PoE In, 802.3af Out — LAN IN accepts IEEE 802.3at Class 4 power and LAN OUT re-supplies 802.3af, letting one cable drop serve the phone and a downstream device.
  • Two-Port Gigabit Switch — Both RJ-45 ports run 10/100/1000BASE-TX, so a room PC can share the phone's network drop instead of requiring its own.
  • Full Radio Configuration — Dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi plus integrated Bluetooth allow deployment in rooms where pulling a new data drop is not practical.
  • USB Audio Device Mode — The USB 2.0 Micro-B device port lets the phone act as a USB speakerphone and content-sharing input for a connected room PC.
  • 100–22,000 Hz Frequency Response — Wideband audio across the full speech range keeps remote participants intelligible on long calls.
  • Enterprise Security and Provisioning — 802.1X authentication, TLS 1.2, HTTPS secure provisioning and Poly Zero Touch Provisioning fit standard corporate network policy.
  • Poly Lens Management — Cloud device management gives IT remote configuration, firmware control and health monitoring across a fleet of rooms.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does 849B6AA#ABA differ from the other Trio C60 order codes?
The hardware is the same across the Full Radio PoE family; the order code sets the firmware configuration and the radio and compliance options. 849B6AA#ABA is the Microsoft Teams build with full radio, while the Open SIP build carries a different part number, and separate No Radio and GSA/TAA order codes exist for secure facilities and government procurement.

What PoE budget should I allocate on the switch port?
LAN IN is an auto-sensing IEEE 802.3at Class 4 powered device, so the port needs a full Class 4 allocation rather than a Class 3 budget. Because LAN OUT is itself 802.3af power sourcing equipment, allow headroom in the switch budget if you plan to power a downstream device through the phone.

How many expansion microphones can I add, and when do I need them?
Up to three Poly Trio C60 expansion microphones daisy-chain from the console. The built-in array covers a 20 ft radius, so expansion microphones are usually specified for boardrooms and long tables where seats fall outside that range.

Can the Trio C60 be used as a USB speakerphone for a room PC?
Yes. The USB 2.0 Micro-B device port lets the phone operate as a USB audio device and content-sharing input, which is useful in rooms that also run a soft codec on a dedicated PC.

Can it act as the audio endpoint for a Poly G7500 or Studio room system?
Poly's VideoOS compatibility guide lists Trio as a supported audio device for G7500 and Poly Studio systems in Poly Video mode. Two limits apply: Trio cannot be used when the room system uses Wi-Fi as its primary network, and Microsoft Teams Rooms configurations support one Trio per system. Confirm the pairing against the compatibility guide for your VideoOS release before ordering.

Is this SKU suitable for a secure facility that prohibits wireless?
No. This is the Full Radio configuration with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled. Poly publishes separate No Radio order codes for the Trio C60, including GSA/TAA variants, which are the correct choice where radios are not permitted.

How is the phone deployed and managed across multiple rooms?
Poly Zero Touch Provisioning and HTTPS secure provisioning handle first-boot configuration, and Poly Lens provides cloud inventory, firmware management and health monitoring. The phone supports 802.1X authentication and TLS 1.2 for networks that enforce port-based access control.

What warranty and support coverage are included?
The unit carries the Poly standard one-year limited warranty. Poly+ service agreements are available separately for extended coverage, advance hardware replacement and technical support; contact Creation Networks for the right coverage tier for your deployment.
