Product Overview
The Poly Studio V52 USB video bar is a premium 4K conferencing bar for medium meeting rooms, pairing a 20MP camera with dual 20 W speakers and a four-microphone array in one display-mounted unit. It is a USB peripheral, not a standalone room system: the V52 requires a connected room PC, Mac, or laptop to run Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Webex, or any other meeting application. That makes it the right choice for BYOD rooms and room-PC deployments where the organization wants to keep the meeting software on the compute it already manages. Poly DirectorAI framing, NoiseBlockAI, and Acoustic Fence deliver the same in-room experience as the appliance-based Studio X52 while leaving the platform decision to the host device.
Product Description

HP Poly designed the Studio V52 as the USB companion to the Studio X52, sharing the same 769.5 mm chassis, camera platform, and audio processing but removing the on-board meeting appliance. The 20MP sensor records 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) at 30 fps across a 95° horizontal and 110° diagonal field of view with 5x digital zoom, and DirectorAI provides speaker framing, people framing, group framing, and a DirectorAI perimeter setting that excludes glass walls and corridor traffic from the tracking zone. Camera range extends to roughly 20 ft, which matches the microphone pickup and makes the bar practical across a full medium conference table rather than only the first few seats.
The compute model is the first thing to settle when specifying this SKU. A USB video bar such as the V52 appears to the host as a standard UVC camera and UAC audio device, so it will not place a call by itself — the room PC, Mac, or a docked laptop runs the meeting client and the bar supplies camera, microphones, and speakers. If your standard is a native room appliance with scheduled one-touch join and no PC in the room, specify the Poly Studio X52 video bar instead. If your standard is a managed room PC, a Teams Rooms on Windows compute module, or an open BYOD table with a USB-C tether, the V52 is the correct part. Both bars share the same mounting ecosystem, so a fleet can mix the two without a second mounting standard.
Audio is built for rooms that were previously wired for a separate DSP and ceiling speakers. Two MEMS microphones and two second-order microphones reach approximately 20 ft, and dual speakers rated 2 x 20 W (40 W maximum) fill a medium room without an outboard amplifier. Poly NoiseBlockAI, Acoustic Fence, full-duplex acoustic echo cancellation, and automatic gain control run on the bar, so the host PC is not carrying the audio processing load. Connectivity covers one USB Type-C, two USB Type-A, one HDMI 1.4 input, two HDMI 2.0 outputs, an RJ-45 gigabit Ethernet interface, and an RJ-11 port, with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 built in and web proxy support for managed corporate networks. An optional expansion microphone is supported for longer tables. For display or stand installation, use the Poly Studio X52/V52 VESA mount; the bar also ships with a monitor clamp, HDMI cable, USB Type-C cable, and AC power adapter for a single-pass install.
Key Features
- USB Connection to Any Host — Presents as a standard UVC camera and UAC audio device so a room PC, Mac, or laptop can run Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Webex, or any other meeting application.
- 20MP 4K Camera — Captures 4K UHD at 30 fps across a 95° horizontal field of view with 5x digital zoom and a working range to about 20 ft.
- Poly DirectorAI Framing — Speaker, people, and group framing keep the shot on the conversation without an operator or a separate camera controller.
- DirectorAI Perimeter — Defines a tracking boundary so glass walls and hallway movement do not pull the camera off the meeting in open-plan offices.
- Four-Microphone Array — Two MEMS and two second-order microphones pick up voice to roughly 20 ft with NoiseBlockAI and Acoustic Fence rejecting outside sound.
- 40 W Speaker System — Dual 20 W drivers fill a medium conference room without adding an external amplifier or DSP to the rack.
- Dual HDMI 2.0 Output — Drives two displays from one bar for separate people and content layouts in medium rooms.
- Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 — Support device management and configuration in rooms without a dedicated data drop.
- Enterprise Network Support — IPv4 and IPv6, gigabit Ethernet, web proxy support, and AES 128/256-bit encryption fit managed corporate networks.
- Shared Mounting with Studio X52 — Uses the same VESA mount and chassis footprint as the X52, so mixed fleets keep one mounting standard.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Poly Studio V52 need a PC?
Yes. The V52 is a USB video bar, not a standalone room system. It requires a connected room PC, Mac, or laptop to run the meeting application. If you need a bar that runs Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, or Google Meet natively with no PC in the room, specify the Poly Studio X52 instead.
What is the difference between the Studio V52 and the Studio X52?
They share the same chassis, camera platform, and audio processing. The X52 is an appliance that runs meeting software on the bar; the V52 removes that appliance and connects over USB to a host device. The V52 is the lower-cost option when the room already has managed compute, and both use the same VESA mount.
Which video platforms work with the V52?
The V52 is certified for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet, and because it presents as a standard UVC camera and UAC audio device it works with Webex or any other application the host device runs. Platform support is determined by the connected PC or Mac, not by the bar.
How is the V52 mounted and cabled in a medium room?
The bar ships with a monitor clamp for display-top mounting plus HDMI, USB Type-C, and power cables. For VESA-pattern installation on a display or floor stand, use the Poly Studio X52/V52 VESA mount. A single USB Type-C run to the host device carries video and audio.
What audio coverage does the V52 provide?
Two MEMS and two second-order microphones pick up voice to approximately 20 ft, and dual 20 W speakers cover a medium conference room without an external amplifier. NoiseBlockAI and Acoustic Fence run on the bar, so the host PC does not carry the audio processing load. An optional expansion microphone is supported for longer tables.
Can the V52 drive two displays?
The bar provides two HDMI 2.0 outputs and one HDMI 1.4 input. In a USB deployment the host device normally drives the displays, so confirm the intended signal path with your integrator before wiring the room.
How does the V52 fit an existing network and management standard?
It supports IPv4 and IPv6 over gigabit Ethernet, web proxy authentication using basic, digest, or NTLM, and AES 128-bit and 256-bit encryption, with administrative access authenticated at the menu, web interface, and API level. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 are available for rooms without a data drop.
What warranty and support are included?
The V52 carries the Poly standard one-year limited warranty. Poly+ service agreements are available separately for extended coverage, advance hardware replacement, and technical support; contact Creation Networks for the correct coverage tier for your deployment.
