Product Overview
The Poly Edge E450 IP desk phone (HP 82M90AA, Poly 2200-87030-025) is an Open SIP business phone built for staff who manage more line appearances than a standard desk set can display. Fourteen line keys are split across two colour screens — eight on a 3.5-inch primary IPS display and six on a 2.4-inch secondary display — supporting up to 44 line key assignments with pagination. It runs on IEEE 802.3af Class 4 Power over Ethernet through a two-port gigabit switch with PC passthrough, and adds integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 for desks and home offices where a wired data drop is not available. For a UC or telephony buyer standardizing an Open SIP estate, the E450 is the mid-tier set that covers busy lamp field users without an expansion module.
Product Description

The two-display layout is the E450's defining feature and the reason it is specified over a single-screen set. The 3.5-inch primary IPS display (320 x 240) carries eight line keys and four context-sensitive soft keys for the calls actually in progress, while the 2.4-inch secondary display (240 x 320) holds six more keys dedicated to busy lamp field monitoring, speed dials, and contacts. A pagination key brings additional lines and contacts into view, which is how the set reaches 44 line key assignments without a second physical module. Where a user needs more — a reception position or a dispatcher — one Poly Edge E Expansion Module is supported, adding 22 line keys across three pages for up to 66 additional contacts.

Provisioning follows standard Open SIP practice: IETF SIP (RFC 3261) with SDP, manual or DHCP network setup, SNTP time sync, and central provisioning over FTP, FTPS, TFTP, HTTP, or HTTPS for mass deployment. Provisioning and call server redundancy are supported where the call platform provides them. Network integration covers IEEE 802.1p/Q VLAN tagging, Layer 3 ToS, CDP and DHCP VLAN discovery, LLDP-MED, static NAT configuration, and dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 operation. Security is handled with 802.1X authentication and EAPOL, SRTP media encryption, TLS, encrypted configuration files, digest authentication, HTTPS secure provisioning, and signed software executables; on Wi-Fi the set supports WPA2-Enterprise with 802.1X (EAP-TLS and PEAP-MSCHAPv2), which is the configuration most corporate wireless estates require.
Audio is the usual Poly stack: HD Voice across handset, headset, and speakerphone paths, Acoustic Clarity for full-duplex operation and echo cancellation, Acoustic Fence for handset and wired headset use, and NoiseBlockAI on the speakerphone. Frequency response runs 150 Hz to 14 kHz and the set is TIA-920 wideband type 1 compliant. Headset support is deliberately broad — a dedicated RJ-9 port, USB Type-C, Bluetooth, and electronic hook switch — so an existing headset estate does not need replacing alongside the phones. Accessibility covers ADA Section 508 Subpart B, hearing aid compatibility to ITU-T P.370 and TIA-504A, TTY adapter support, text-to-speech, and adjustable colour and font settings. Note that when the phone runs on Wi-Fi rather than PoE it needs an external supply; order the Poly Edge E100–E450 power supply separately. Where a deployment needs a larger single screen instead of dual displays, compare the Poly Edge E500.

Key Features
- Dual Colour Displays — A 3.5-inch IPS primary display and a 2.4-inch secondary display separate active calls from busy lamp field and speed dial monitoring.
- 14 Line Keys, 44 Assignments — Eight keys on the primary screen and six on the secondary support up to 44 line key assignments through the pagination key.
- Integrated Wi-Fi — Dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands lets the phone deploy at desks and home offices with no data drop.
- Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC — Pair a Bluetooth headset or a mobile phone to answer mobile calls on the desk set, with NFC available for hoteling and pairing workflows.
- Class 4 PoE with PC Passthrough — IEEE 802.3af Class 4 PoE at 13 W maximum over a two-port gigabit switch keeps the desk to a single cable run.
- Open SIP Provisioning — IETF SIP with FTP, FTPS, TFTP, HTTP, and HTTPS central provisioning supports mass deployment against any standards-based call platform.
- Enterprise Wi-Fi Security — WPA2-Enterprise with 802.1X (EAP-TLS, PEAP-MSCHAPv2) alongside wired 802.1X, SRTP, and TLS meets corporate network policy.
- Broad Headset Support — RJ-9, USB Type-C, Bluetooth, and electronic hook switch let an existing headset estate carry over to the new phones.
- Poly Audio Processing — HD Voice, Acoustic Clarity, Acoustic Fence, and NoiseBlockAI keep open-plan background noise off the call.
- Expansion Module Support — One Poly Edge E Expansion Module adds 22 line keys and up to 66 contacts for reception and dispatch positions.
- Microban Antimicrobial Protection — Console, handset, and handset cord carry integrated Microban protection for hot-desk and shared-workstation environments.
- ENERGY STAR Rated — The set is ENERGY STAR rated, which supports facilities and sustainability reporting on large deployments.
