Product Overview

The Poly CCX 400 Teams phone is an entry-level business media phone that puts a 5-inch color touchscreen and the native Microsoft Teams client on the desk without the cost of a mid-range device. Contacts, meetings and voicemail are one tap away on a 720 x 1280 capacitive display running on Android 9, so users who already live in Teams get the same interface at the desk phone. Poly HD Voice, Acoustic Clarity and Acoustic Fence hold the far end steady in open-plan offices where background conversation is constant. It is the sensible standard for desk positions, lobby tables and common-area phones licensed under a Microsoft Teams Common Area Phone plan.

Product Description

Poly CCX 400 business media phone for Microsoft Teams with 5-inch color touchscreen

This listing is HP part number 848Z8AA#AC3, the Microsoft Teams firmware build of the CCX 400 — formerly Poly 2200-49700-019 — supplied as a PoE-only unit with no power adapter in the carton. Because the firmware is the differentiator between CCX 400 SKUs, ordering the Teams build means the phone signs straight into the tenant and is inventoried, updated and policy-managed from the Microsoft Teams admin center rather than from a SIP provisioning server. Deployed with a Teams Common Area Phone license, the same hardware becomes a simple dial-pad endpoint for a lobby, break room or corridor; deployed with a user license, it is a full Teams desk phone.

Physically the CCX 400 is built for straightforward installation. A two-port gigabit Ethernet switch passes 10/100/1000Base-TX through to a desktop PC so each workstation keeps a single drop, the base height is adjustable for sightline at the desk, and the phone can be wall mounted with the Poly CCX 400 wall mount bracket where no desk surface exists. Headsets connect over the dedicated RJ-9 port, USB Type-A, or an electronic hookswitch cable, which lets an integrator keep an existing headset standard in place. If a target position has no PoE switch port behind it, add the Poly 5V/3A power supply for the CCX 400 at order time, and keep a spare CCX 400 replacement handset and cord on hand for high-traffic common-area phones.

For IT, the phone provisions from FTP, TFTP, HTTP or HTTPS servers for mass deployment, supports 802.1X authentication with EAPOL, SRTP media encryption and TLS transport, and reports status through syslog and event logging. QoS handling covers IEEE 802.1p/Q VLAN tagging, Layer 3 TOS, and VLAN discovery via CDP, DHCP and LLDP-MED, which is what makes it drop cleanly into a voice VLAN on a managed campus network. Sites that need programmable line keys or Wi-Fi at the desk instead of a touchscreen should compare this against the Poly Edge E450 IP desk phone.

Key Features

  • 5-Inch Color Touchscreen — A 720 x 1280 multi-touch capacitive display puts contacts, meetings and voicemail one tap away for users already working in Teams.
  • Native Microsoft Teams Firmware — Part 848Z8AA#AC3 signs in as a Teams device and is managed from the Microsoft Teams admin center, with no SIP call server required.
  • Common Area Phone Ready — Deploys under a Microsoft Teams Common Area Phone license for lobby, break room and corridor positions, or as a full user desk phone.
  • Poly HD Voice and Acoustic Fence — Wideband audio across handset, speakerphone and headset with background noise suppressed at the source in open-plan offices.
  • Flexible Headset Connectivity — RJ-9, USB Type-A and electronic hookswitch options let sites keep the headset standard they already own.
  • 802.3af PoE Class 3 Power — Draws up to 13 W from the switch port, so a position needs one cable run and no local outlet.
  • Two-Port Gigabit Switch — Passes 10/100/1000Base-TX through to a desktop PC, preserving a single network drop per workstation.
  • Managed-Network Ready — 802.1X with EAPOL, SRTP, TLS and IEEE 802.1p/Q VLAN tagging with CDP, DHCP and LLDP-MED discovery drop the phone into an existing voice VLAN.
  • Desk or Wall Installation — Ships with a desk stand and adjustable base height, and accepts the optional CCX 400 wall mount bracket.
