Product Overview
NAV E 111 DTP3, part number 60-1525-16. The Extron NAV E 111 DTP3 is a 1G Pro AV over IP encoder with a DTP3 input, bridging existing DTP3 and DTP twisted pair infrastructure into a NAV Pro AV over IP system. It receives video, audio, and control from a DTP3 or DTP transmitter over up to 330 feet of CAT 6A cable and streams 4K/60 at 4:4:4 onto the network. It also powers the connected transmitter, so the remote end needs no local supply. The PURE3 codec provides network resiliency, and PURE3 Intelligent Selective Streaming reduces bandwidth on the network.
Product Description
Most facilities moving to AV over IP already have DTP or DTP3 twisted pair infrastructure in the walls. Ripping it out to standardize on IP is rarely justifiable, and running both systems in parallel means two control philosophies and two spares inventories.
The NAV E 111 DTP3 solves that by making the existing twisted pair run an input to the IP system. A DTP3 or DTP transmitter at a room plate or lectern feeds this encoder over up to 330 feet of CAT 6A, and the encoder streams the result onto the NAV network at up to 4K/60 with 4:4:4 chroma sampling. The wallplate stays; the distribution changes.
The encoder also powers the connected DTP3 or DTP transmitter, which removes the local power supply from the room-side installation. In a retrofit, that is often the difference between a clean cutover and a coordination exercise with the electrician.
Signal handling covers DVI 1.0, HDMI 1.4 and 2.0, with HDCP 1.4 and 2.3, at a maximum data rate of 18 Gbps. Resolution support reaches 4096x2160 at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma and 8-bit color, or 10-bit at 30 Hz. Chroma sampling of 4:4:4, 4:2:2, and 4:2:0 is supported at 8 or 10 bits per color.
The PURE3 codec delivers improved network resiliency, and PURE3 Intelligent Selective Streaming reduces bandwidth requirements by streaming what is actually needed rather than everything at all times, which matters when the AV system shares infrastructure with the corporate network. Pair with Extron NAV decoders such as the NAV D 121 or the scaling NAV SD 121 at the display end.

Key Features
- DTP3 and DTP input — Accepts video, audio, and control from an existing DTP3 or DTP transmitter over up to 330 feet of CAT 6A.
- Powers the remote transmitter — Supplies power to the connected DTP3 or DTP transmitter, removing the local supply from the room-side install.
- 4K/60 at 4:4:4 — Encodes and streams up to 4096x2160 at 60 Hz with full 4:4:4 chroma sampling.
- PURE3 codec — Delivers improved network resiliency for AV traffic sharing infrastructure with other network use.
- Intelligent Selective Streaming — PURE3 Intelligent Selective Streaming reduces bandwidth by streaming only what the system needs.
- 1G network operation — Runs on standard 1 Gbps Ethernet infrastructure rather than requiring 10G to the endpoint.
- HDCP 1.4 and 2.3 — Maintains protected content paths for corporate laptops and media sources.
- Retrofit friendly — Brings installed twisted pair infrastructure into an IP distribution system without replacing room-side hardware.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why would I use a DTP3 input encoder instead of an HDMI one?
Because the twisted pair infrastructure is already installed. This encoder lets an existing DTP3 or DTP wallplate or lectern transmitter feed a NAV Pro AV over IP system directly, so a retrofit does not require replacing the room-side hardware or re-pulling cable.
Does it power the connected transmitter?
Yes. It powers either a DTP3 or a DTP transmitter, which removes the need for a local power supply at the room-side plate.
What distance does the DTP3 input support?
Up to 330 feet (100 meters) over CAT 6A. Use shielded twisted pair terminated to the shielded standard end to end for the full distance at 4K rates.
What is PURE3 Intelligent Selective Streaming?
It reduces network bandwidth by streaming only what the system actually needs at a given moment rather than every stream continuously. On a shared network, that is the difference between an AV system that coexists with corporate traffic and one that does not.
Which decoders pair with it?
Extron NAV decoders, including the NAV D 121 compact decoder and the NAV SD 121 compact scaling decoder. Choose the scaling decoder where display native resolutions vary across the deployment.
Does it require a 10G network?
No. It operates on 1 Gbps Ethernet, which suits the access layer switching most facilities already have. Confirm switch configuration for multicast and QoS during design.
What network design support is available?
Creation Networks can review switch configuration, multicast handling, and bandwidth planning for a NAV deployment before you order, and coordinate Extron warranty and RMA handling.
