Product Description
The Extron FOX3 SR 301 MM (P/N 60-1749-21) is a multimode fiber optic scaling receiver that extends HDCP-compliant HDMI video, USB, audio, RS-232 and IR control, and 3D sync signals over fiber optic cabling. Using Extron all-digital technology, this FOX3 SR 301 fiber optic scaling receiver delivers pixel-for-pixel uncompressed video up to 4K/60 at 4:4:4 chroma sampling over two fibers, or mathematically lossless 4K/60 at 4:4:4 over a single fiber. It is engineered for AV and KVM systems that demand exceptional high-resolution image performance.
This multimode HDMI fiber optic extender receiver supports data rates up to 18 Gbps and integrates the Extron Vector 4K scaling engine for high-precision upscaling and downscaling, with selectable output resolutions up to 4096x2160 at 60 Hz. Integrated USB signal extension supports USB 3.0, 2.0, 1.1, 1.0, and HID devices over the same fiber as video and audio, making it well suited for keyboard, video, and mouse deployments without additional IP network drops or USB extenders. For point-to-point links, pair the receiver with the Extron FOX3 T 301 MM transmitter, or combine it with a FOX3 Series matrix switcher for enterprise-wide signal distribution.
Designed for moderate-range runs within buildings and campuses, the multimode model operates at 850 nm for distances up to 500 m (1640 feet). Browse the full range of compatible fiber extension hardware in our Extron collection.

Key Features
- Vector 4K Scaling — The integrated Extron Vector 4K scaling engine provides selectable output resolutions up to 4096x2160 at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling for optimized upscaling and downscaling.
- Lossless and Uncompressed 4K Transmission — Supports mathematically lossless 4K/60 4:4:4 over one fiber or fully uncompressed 4K/60 4:4:4 over two fibers, with HDMI 2.0 data rates up to 18 Gbps and Deep Color up to 12-bit.
- Integrated USB Signal Extension — Extends USB 3.0, 2.0, 1.1, 1.0, and HID peripherals over the same fiber optic cable as video and audio, eliminating the need for separate USB extenders for KVM applications.
- USB HID Device Class Filtering — The USB HID port applies factory-set device class filtering to restrict connected devices to HID types, preventing unauthorized data transfer in secure environments.
- HDCP 2.3 Compliance with Key Minder — Key Minder authenticates and maintains continuous HDCP encryption for quick, reliable switching, with HDCP Visual Confirmation indicating when protected content cannot be displayed.
- HDMI Audio De-Embedding — Digital HDMI audio is made available as a balanced or unbalanced analog stereo signal on captive screw connectors, with an analog audio return channel for a remote source.
- Bidirectional Control Extension — Transmits RS-232 and IR control signals over fiber for remote AV device control, configurable from the transmitter or receiver end.
- Ethernet Monitoring and Control — A LAN port enables proactive monitoring and management over standard TCP/IP networks, with a front panel USB configuration port for setup without rear panel access.
- JITC Certified — Successfully completed interoperability and information assurance testing for government and mission-critical environments.
- Everlast Power Supply — The internal Extron Everlast power supply provides worldwide power compatibility and is covered by a 7-year parts and labor warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which transmitter pairs with the FOX3 SR 301 MM receiver?
In point-to-point applications, the FOX3 SR 301 MM pairs with the Extron FOX3 T 301 MM transmitter. It can also receive signals from a FOX3 Series matrix switcher for enterprise-wide distribution.
What is the difference between one-fiber and two-fiber operation?
Over two fibers the receiver delivers fully uncompressed 4K/60 at 4:4:4. Over a single fiber it delivers mathematically lossless 4K/60 at 4:4:4, useful where fiber count is limited.
How far can this multimode model transmit?
The 850 nm multimode model supports moderate-range transmission up to 500 m (1640 feet), suitable for runs within buildings and facilities. Singlemode models are available for extreme distances.
Can I extend USB peripherals without a separate extender?
Yes. Integrated USB signal extension carries USB 3.0, 2.0, 1.1, 1.0, and HID devices over the same fiber as video and audio, eliminating the need for additional USB extenders or IP network drops.
What warranty applies to this receiver?
The internal Extron Everlast power supply is covered by a 7-year parts and labor warranty. Contact Creation Networks for full warranty and support details.
