Product Overview

The Epson ELPLU03 short-throw projector zoom lens is an interchangeable Short Throw #1 lens for Epson PowerLite Pro G7000 Series and Pro L1000 Series projectors. With a short-throw range and a modest powered zoom, this Epson short-throw lens (V12H004U03) is built for rooms where the projector must sit close to the screen, such as boardrooms, lecture halls, and tight rental setups. It excludes the Pro L25000 platform. The ELPLU03 is the integrator's option when a standard lens sits too far back for the available throw distance.

Product Description

Epson ELPLU03 short-throw projector zoom lensThe ELPLU03 provides a 16:10 throw ratio of 0.65 to 0.78 and a 4:3 throw ratio of 0.89 to 1.08, with a 1.0 to 1.2x zoom range for fine framing once the projector is positioned. On the Pro L1500 and Pro L1505, the 16:10 throw ratio shifts to 0.48 to 0.57, reflecting those models' larger imaging chip. This short-throw geometry lets a projector fill a screen from a close standoff, which is what makes it useful in shallow rooms and rear-projection cabinets. As an interchangeable lens it mounts to the same Pro G7000 and Pro L1000 chassis that accept Epson's wide, middle, and long-throw optics, so an integrator can match the lens to the room rather than the room to the projector. It is compatible with PowerLite Pro G7000 Series and Pro L1000 Series bodies; for current large-venue laser platforms, review the Epson EB-PU1008W and the Epson EB-PU2010B, or browse the full Epson projector lineup to confirm fitment. The lens ships separately from the projector.

Key Features

  • Short-throw geometry — A 16:10 throw ratio of 0.65 to 0.78 lets the projector sit close to the screen in shallow rooms.
  • Powered zoom range — A 1.0 to 1.2x zoom allows image framing adjustment without relocating the chassis.
  • 4:3 throw support — Delivers a 0.89 to 1.08 throw ratio for 4:3 content on compatible projectors.
  • Pro L1500/L1505 throw range — Provides a 0.48 to 0.57 16:10 throw ratio on Pro L1500 and Pro L1505 models.
  • Interchangeable mount — Swaps onto the same Pro G7000 and Pro L1000 chassis that accept Epson's other Pro Series lenses.
  • Large-venue compatibility — Designed for Epson PowerLite Pro G7000 Series and Pro L1000 Series projectors.

Typical Applications

  • Lecture halls and classrooms — Large images where the projector cannot be placed far from the screen.
  • Boardrooms and corporate AV — Short-throw coverage in shallow meeting spaces.
  • Rental and staging — Fast lens swaps to match each room's throw distance.
  • Houses of worship — Front projection from a close, low-profile position.
  • Rear-projection cabinets — Compact enclosures that demand a short throw.

FAQ

Which Epson projectors does the ELPLU03 fit?
It fits Epson PowerLite Pro G7000 Series and Pro L1000 Series interchangeable-lens projectors. It excludes the Pro L25000. Confirm your exact model against Epson's compatibility list before ordering.

How close can I place the projector?
With a 16:10 throw ratio of 0.65 to 0.78, the projector sits close to the screen. As a rough guide, a 0.7 throw ratio yields roughly a 1-foot-wide image per 0.7 feet of distance, so a 10-foot-wide image needs only about 7 feet of throw.

Is the zoom powered?
The lens offers a 1.0 to 1.2x zoom range used through the projector's lens controls; this is a narrow short-throw zoom intended for framing rather than large distance changes.

Why is the throw ratio different on the Pro L1500/L1505?
Those models use a different imaging panel, so the same lens produces a wider 0.48 to 0.57 16:10 throw ratio on them.

Can I swap this lens with other Epson Pro lenses?
Yes. It is interchangeable on the same Pro G7000 and Pro L1000 chassis that accept Epson's wide, middle, and long-throw lenses, so you can match the optic to each venue.

Is the projector included?
No. The lens is sold separately from the projector body.
