What is the Christie M 4K15 RGB?

The Christie M 4K15 RGB is a 3DLP projector delivering 15,750 lumens at 4K UHD resolution using RGB pure laser illumination. It sits at the entry point of the M 4K RGB Series and ships without a lens so the optic can be matched to the room. For venues that need true 3-chip colour accuracy and the wider gamut of pure laser, this is where the range starts.

Why 3DLP and RGB pure laser matter here

A 3-chip DLP produces each primary colour on its own device rather than sequencing them through a wheel. That removes rainbow artefacts entirely and holds colour accuracy at high brightness — differences that become visible from the seats once a room passes a certain size, which is why 3-chip is the standard for large venues rather than an upgrade.

RGB pure laser goes further than laser phosphor. Rather than converting blue laser light through a phosphor wheel, it generates red, green and blue directly, producing a substantially wider colour gamut and more saturated primaries. In a museum, visitor attraction or projection-mapped installation where colour fidelity is the point, that difference is the reason to specify this class.

Where it fits

  • Museums, galleries and visitor attractions

  • Projection mapping and themed entertainment

  • Large auditoriums and performing arts venues

  • Visualisation, simulation and command centres

  • Houses of worship with large screens and controlled lighting

  • Government and federal installations requiring TAA-compliant equipment

Specifying the projector

Brightness follows screen size and ambient light, not room volume. A large room with controlled lighting may need less output than a smaller one with glazing. At 15,750 lumens this model covers substantial screens in rooms where light is managed — above that, or in brighter conditions, the higher models in the series apply.

Confirm whether a competing figure is quoted in ANSI, ISO or centre lumens before comparing. Those are different measurements and comparing across them gives the wrong answer.

The lens is a required line item

This projector ships as a no-lens body. Throw ratio is distance from lens to screen divided by image width — measure the distance you actually have, decide the image width the room needs, divide, and that number selects the lens. Check lens shift range against the mounting height at the same time, because a lens that reaches the right distance but cannot shift far enough puts the image in the wrong place on the wall.

See the Christie lens range, or let Creation Networks calculate it from your room drawing.

TAA compliance

Christie supplies this model under two part numbers: 163-066103 standard and 163-065102 TAA-compliant. For federal contracts and federally funded projects the TAA part number is the one to order, and the distinction is invisible unless somebody checks.

Creation Networks verifies TAA status per part number before quoting and supplies the country-of-origin documentation your contracting officer will ask for. See the TAA-compliant range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this projector include a lens?

No. The M 4K15 RGB ships as a no-lens body so the optic can be matched to the room. The lens is a required line item, not an accessory.

What is the difference between RGB pure laser and laser phosphor?

Laser phosphor converts blue laser light through a phosphor wheel to produce white, then splits it. RGB pure laser generates red, green and blue directly, producing a wider colour gamut and more saturated primaries. Where colour fidelity is the point — museums, attractions, mapped installations — that difference is why this class gets specified.

Why 3DLP rather than 1DLP?

A 3-chip design produces each colour on its own device rather than sequencing through a wheel, removing rainbow artefacts and holding colour accuracy at high brightness. In a large venue those differences are visible from the seats.

Which part number do I order for a federal project?

163-065102 is the TAA-compliant variant. 163-066103 is the standard version. Creation Networks verifies current status and supplies country-of-origin documentation before you commit to a purchase order.

How do I choose between models in the M 4K RGB Series?

Brightness, driven by screen size and ambient light. Creation Networks calculates the requirement from the room rather than the datasheet.

Can Creation Networks design and install it?

Yes. Creation Networks is CTS-D certified and designs, installs and supports projection systems nationwide — lens selection, throw calculation, rigging, blending and commissioning. Call 888-230-3661 or email sales@creationnetworks.net.
