What is the Christie 4K13-HS?

The Christie 4K13-HS is a 1DLP laser projector delivering 14,800 ISO lumens (12,500 ANSI) at 4K UHD 3840 x 2160 via pixel shifting, with Christie BoldColor+ technology. It sits between the 4K7-HS and the 4K22-HS in the HS Series — a high-value option where 4K UHD brightness is needed in a small form factor. It ships without a lens.

Why BoldColor+ matters here

Standard laser phosphor produces white light through a phosphor wheel and splits it. BoldColor+ adds a dedicated red laser alongside the blue, which lifts red output specifically — the colour laser phosphor handles least well. The practical result is deeper blacks, better colour uniformity and more natural skin tones.

Only five models in the HS Series carry it: the 4K13-HS, 4K22-HS, DWU15-HS, DWU19-HS and DWU23-HS. If colour performance is being scrutinised — museums, broadcast backdrops, retail — that list is the shortlist.

Runs on a standard circuit

The 4K13-HS operates at full brightness on a single 12A 110V circuit. That is worth more than it sounds in retrofit work: it means no electrical upgrade, no new dedicated run, and no coordination with the building's electrician before the projector can be commissioned.

Choosing within the HS Series

All three 4K models share the same lens family and accessory set. The difference is brightness:

Model ISO / ANSI lumens BoldColor+
4K7-HS 7,600 Standard BoldColor
4K13-HS 14,800 / 12,500 Yes
4K22-HS 22,500 Yes

Where it is used

  • Meeting rooms, boardrooms and corporate presentation spaces

  • Hospitality and large venues

  • Live events and staging

  • Museums and attractions

  • Houses of worship

  • Government installations requiring TAA-compliant equipment

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this projector include a lens?

No. It ships as a no-lens body with eight interchangeable motorized lenses available. Throw ratio is distance from lens to screen divided by image width — see the Christie lens range.

What is the difference between ISO and ANSI lumens here?

Christie publishes 14,800 ISO and 12,500 ANSI for the same projector. They are different measurement standards, not different outputs. When comparing against another manufacturer, confirm which standard their figure uses.

Is the resolution native 4K?

No. The 4K13-HS uses a 1920 x 1080 native device with pixel shifting to deliver 4K UHD 3840 x 2160 on screen. For native 4K at this brightness class, the 3DLP ranges apply.

What does BoldColor+ add?

A dedicated red laser alongside the blue, which lifts red output specifically. The result is deeper blacks, better colour uniformity and more natural skin tones than standard laser phosphor.

Is there a TAA-compliant version?

Yes — the 4K13A-HS, part number 171-070108-01. Creation Networks verifies current TAA status per part number and supplies country-of-origin documentation before you commit to a federal purchase order.

Can Creation Networks design and install it?

Yes. Creation Networks is CTS-D certified and designs, installs and supports projection systems nationwide — lens selection, throw calculation, rigging, blending and commissioning. Call 888-230-3661 or email sales@creationnetworks.net.
