Product Description
The 9-Pack scales up the VideoWall concept to a full 3×3 display array using nine BirdDog PLAY units. Each PLAY attaches magnetically behind a screen or sits in front via a non-slip rubber grip ring, powered by the display's USB-C port. All nine units connect to the same Gigabit Ethernet switch. VideoWall software running on a Windows 11 machine handles assignment of each unit to its screen position and content distribution — no per-unit web configuration is required after initial setup. Source changes propagate across all nine screens simultaneously in two clicks.
VideoWall supports 1080p and 4K UHD progressive at up to 60fps per screen and is compatible with Full NDI, NDI|HX2, and NDI|HX3 including NDI® 5 features such as Reliable UDP. Frequently Asked Questions
How much network bandwidth does the 9-Pack require?
Each PLAY unit receives a separate NDI stream (or a tile of a single stream). If all nine screens display the same source via VideoWall software, one 4K NDI|HX3 source at approximately 40–80Mbps is split across all nine units. Each PLAY requires its own Gigabit Ethernet port. A Layer-3 managed switch with DHCP is recommended for installations of this scale.
Can the 9-Pack use a mix of 4K and 1080p screens?
Yes. Each PLAY unit outputs up to 4K via HDMI 2.0 when connected to a 4K display receiving NDI|HX2/HX3. Connecting a PLAY to a 1080p display automatically outputs 1080p.
Is a 9-screen video wall cheaper than buying components separately?
Yes. The VideoWall 9-Pack bundles the VideoWall Software license with nine PLAY units at a discount versus purchasing each PLAY individually plus a standalone software license.
Does the VideoWall software need to run continuously?
Yes for active display. The VideoWall software maintains the NDI routing to each PLAY unit. It runs as a system tray app and can be minimized; closing it stops the video wall streams.
