The BirdDog VideoWall Software with 4 x PLAY 4K NDI Players Kit bundles four BirdDog PLAY NDI decoder units with a VideoWall Software license, providing a complete solution for a 2×2 four-screen NDI video wall. Each PLAY unit connects to a display via HDMI, draws power from the display's USB port, and receives NDI®, NDI|HX2, or NDI|HX3 video from the network. The VideoWall software — a Windows 11 system tray application — controls all four PLAY units simultaneously, distributing a single NDI source across the four-screen array in a 2×2 layout. This kit is suited for corporate lobbies, house of worship IMAG walls, digital signage in commercial spaces, and events requiring multi-screen NDI distribution.
Product Description
Each PLAY unit in this kit measures 85×85×19mm and weighs 97g. It attaches behind a display via a built-in magnet or sits in front with a non-slip rubber grip ring, powered by the display's USB-C port. All four PLAY units connect to the same Gigabit Ethernet switch, and the VideoWall software running on a Windows 11 machine assigns each PLAY to a screen position in the 2×2 array with no need to manually configure each unit's web interface. NDI source selection is two clicks: open the dropdown, choose the source. Content updates instantly across all four screens.
VideoWall supports 1080p and 4K UHD progressive inputs at up to 60fps, and is compatible with Full NDI, NDI|HX2, and NDI|HX3 including NDI® 5 features such as Reliable UDP. Pair with BirdDog Central 2.0 for playlist-based content management and the ability to push different content to multiple VideoWall installations simultaneously. Can I expand the 4-pack to more screens later?
Additional PLAY units can be purchased individually and added to an existing VideoWall Software license. For a complete 9-screen solution from the start, the BirdDog VideoWall 9-Pack is more cost-effective.
Does the VideoWall software require a dedicated PC?
VideoWall runs as a Windows 11 system tray application. It can run on any Windows 11 machine on the same network as the PLAY units, including a machine used for other tasks. A dedicated PC is not required, though one is recommended for 24/7 digital signage deployments.
Can the VideoWall display different content on different screens?
The VideoWall software displays a single NDI source spread across all screens in a video wall mosaic. For different content per screen, each PLAY can be individually configured via its own interface. With BirdDog Central 2.0, different NDI sources can be routed to individual PLAY units.
What NDI sources work with VideoWall?
Any NDI® 5-compatible source works: BirdDog PTZ cameras, NDI-enabled media servers, software switchers (vMix, TriCaster), and NDI encoding devices. The source resolution should be 1080p or 4K progressive for best results.
