Product Overview

The BirdDog PLAY is a compact 4K UHD NDI® player that outputs NDI video to any HDMI 2.0 display or projector. Measuring 85×85×19mm and weighing just 97 grams, PLAY attaches behind a display via its built-in magnet or sits in front with a non-slip rubber grip ring, and is powered by USB-C. It supports Full NDI, NDI|HX2, and NDI|HX3 up to 4K60, automatically discovers NDI sources on the network, and is navigated using the existing TV remote via CEC. With RESTful API, Crestron, Zoom, and Q-SYS support, PLAY is a practical NDI output device for conference rooms, digital signage screens, and distributed display installations.

Product Description

PLAY is designed for installations where NDI video needs to appear on a display with minimal infrastructure. Connect PLAY to the display's HDMI port and USB port for power, connect to the NDI network via Ethernet, and use the TV remote to select from automatically discovered NDI sources. There are no dedicated computers, software decoders, or separate power adapters required at each screen location. Full NDI supports up to 1080p60; NDI|HX supports up to 4K UHD 60p. SRT streaming is supported for content distribution outside the local network via BirdDog Connect.

For multi-screen digital signage deployments, PLAY can be paired with BirdDog VideoWall software to create 2×2 or 3×3 video wall configurations across multiple screens using a single NDI source. The VideoWall 4-pack and 9-pack bundles include PLAY units pre-configured for this use case. PLAY is compatible with BirdDog Central 2.0 for NDI routing and media playback, and supports Crestron control modules, Zoom integration, and Q-SYS APIs for AV system control.
