The BirdDog P4K 4K Full NDI PTZ 3-Camera Kit (Black) includes three black BirdDog P4K cameras — the highest-specification NDI PTZ camera kit available from BirdDog, built around three 1" Sony Exmor R CMOS sensors. Designed for flagship broadcast studios, large houses of worship, auditoriums, and demanding AV system integrations, this kit delivers three channels of visually lossless 4K Full NDI® video with simultaneous 6G-SDI and HDMI outputs, all powered by PoE+. Product Description
Each BirdDog P4K in this kit uses a 14.2-megapixel 1" Sony Exmor R CMOS backlit sensor — the largest sensor format available in any NDI PTZ camera. The 1" sensor delivers significantly better low-light performance, dynamic range, and depth-of-field control compared to 1/2.5" sensors in other 4K NDI cameras, making this kit the appropriate choice for large-venue productions where image quality is the primary specification driver. The 12x optical zoom extends via Super Resolution Zoom to 18x in 4K and 24x in HD.
All three cameras transmit Full Bandwidth NDI® over standard Gigabit Ethernet. Each camera outputs simultaneously via one 4K HDMI Type-A port and two 6G-SDI ports (or Dual Link 3G-SDI), supporting both IP-based and traditional SDI production environments. Control is via NDI auto-configuration, VISCA IP, or RS-232/RS-422 serial. Each camera draws max 28W via PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at). Features include bi-color tally front and back, 128 speed-adjustable presets, F2.8 constant aperture, and browser-based BirdUI configuration with RESTful API support. Why choose the P4K kit over a P400 kit?
The P4K uses a 1" 14.2MP Sony Exmor R sensor versus the P400's 1/2.5" 8.5MP sensor. The larger sensor delivers significantly better low-light performance, depth-of-field separation, and dynamic range. It is the appropriate choice when image quality is the primary requirement — particularly in large sanctuaries, flagship broadcast studios, or government facilities with critical production standards.
Does the P4K support NDI|HX?
No. All three P4K cameras in this kit transmit Full Bandwidth NDI® only, requiring approximately 140–200Mbps per camera stream on Gigabit Ethernet. For NDI|HX3 at 4K60, see the BirdDog X5 Ultra.
Is a PTZ keyboard included?
No. This kit includes three P4K cameras only. The BirdDog KBD PTZ Controller is available separately for centralized multi-camera control.
What switch infrastructure do three P4K cameras require?
Three P4K cameras at 4K generate approximately 420–600Mbps aggregate NDI traffic. A managed Gigabit switch with IGMP snooping, at minimum 1Gbps uplink capacity, and PoE+ budget of at least 90W is recommended for a three-camera deployment.
Are mixed-color and white P4K kits available?
