Product Overview
The Biamp Tesira AVB-1 is a modular digital audio networking card that supports up to 420 x 420 channels of audio over AVB/TSN for a Tesira SERVER or SERVER-IO device. AVB/TSN is the default interconnect transport between Tesira DSPs and remote devices, so the AVB-1 is a core building block for distributed commercial audio systems. This Tesira AVB networking card carries processed audio between chassis, expanders, and endpoints across a standard Ethernet network of AVB-enabled switches. The AVB-1 can be installed at the factory or added in the field.
Product Description
The AVB-1 allows a Tesira system to send and receive digital audio over an Ethernet network using AVB-enabled switches, supporting up to 420 x 420 channels of interconnectivity from any compliant device. Because Tesira uses AVB/TSN as its native transport between DSPs and remote I/O, this card is central to AV system integration projects that span multiple rooms, floors, or buildings. The AVB-1 is built on established IEEE standards including 802.1AS, 802.1Q, 1722, and 1722.1, giving integrators a standards-based backbone for large deployments. Explicit AVB input and output blocks in Tesira software provide direct control over signal routing. Dual RJ-45 connectors support primary and secondary redundant networks, an important consideration for mission-critical spaces. The AVB-1 can be installed alongside DAN-1 Dante and SCM-1 CobraNet cards for multi-protocol bridging. System configuration and control are handled over Ethernet. The card incorporates AES48-2005 grounding and EMC practices, is RoHS compliant, and carries Biamp's 5-year warranty. Pair it with the Tesira DAN-1 or Tesira SCM-1, or browse the full Biamp collection.
Key Features
- 420 x 420 AVB Channels — The card supports up to 420 input and 420 output channels of digital audio over AVB/TSN.
- Native Tesira Transport — AVB/TSN is the default interconnect between Tesira DSPs and remote devices, making the AVB-1 central to distributed systems.
