Each SEC-4 provides four channels of mic or line level audio input with Acoustic Echo Cancellation on plug-in barrier strip connectors. The card carries the next generation of Biamp's Sona AEC technology and adds SpeechSense, an algorithm that more accurately distinguishes human speech from noise for more natural conferencing. Notably, the SEC-4 performs its echo cancellation on the card itself, so it does not consume DSP resources from the SERVER or SERVER-IO. In Tesira software, control is separated into distinct blocks for the mic/line inputs and for the AEC processing, which lets the system designer use the inputs independently and apply the AEC algorithm to signals from a different part of the system.
