Part of the UniPoint installation series, it places a small-diameter element near the boundary to eliminate phase distortion and deliver clear, high-output speech. Self-contained electronics remove the need for an external power module, simplifying commercial AV installation on tables and lecterns.
Product Description
The U851RbO mounts flush to a table, lectern, or stage lip and uses its omnidirectional pattern to capture talkers across a wide area. The small-diameter UniPoint element sits close to the surface, which reduces phase cancellation and produces clean, articulate pickup for conferencing and reinforcement.
A heavy die-cast case and silicon foam bottom pads minimize coupling of surface vibration into the microphone, while the UniSteep filter and UniGuard RFI shielding control low-frequency noise and radio-frequency interference. A PivotPoint rotating output connector simplifies cable dressing during installation.
The microphone accepts interchangeable cardioid and hypercardioid elements (available separately) when a more directional pattern is needed. It requires phantom power and connects directly to your mixer or DSP without an external module. For overhead pickup in the same space, the U853PMU hanging microphone is a complementary UniPoint option.
