The Audio-Technica AT8538 is an in-line power module that provides phantom powering and a balanced XLR output for compatible Audio-Technica microphones. It accepts a TA3M input and outputs a 3-pin XLRM connector, with an integral 80 Hz high-pass filter to control low-frequency noise. It is the power module used with microphones such as the AT831R and several UniPoint models.
Product Description
The AT8538 connects a TA3M-terminated microphone to a standard phantom-powered XLR input, making it the link between the element and your mixer or DSP. It operates on phantom power only.
An integral 80 Hz high-pass filter (bass roll-off) reduces rumble and handling noise while preserving speech clarity. The compact in-line housing fits neatly into install racks and portable kits.
The AT8538 is specified for use with the AT831R, U853R(W), U853R(W)U, U857R(L), and U857R(L)U microphones. The wired AT831R lavalier ships with this module.
