Product Overview
The Audio-Technica AT831R is a miniature cardioid condenser lavalier microphone for presenters, lecturers, and interview subjects in commercial AV settings. Its cardioid pattern rejects off-axis sound to improve gain-before-feedback in reinforced conference rooms and training rooms. The microphone is supplied with an AT8538 phantom power module for direct connection to a mixer or DSP.
Product Description
Clipped to a lapel, the AT831R delivers a clean, intelligible speech signal for sound reinforcement, lecture capture, and conferencing. Its directional cardioid pattern helps control feedback where loudspeakers are active, an advantage over omnidirectional lavaliers in live rooms.
The microphone uses a permanently attached miniature cable terminated with a TA3F connector that mates with the included AT8538 in-line phantom power module, and it operates on 11V to 52V phantom power. An integral 80 Hz high-pass filter switches from flat response to a low-end roll-off to control rumble and handling noise.
For wireless use of the same capsule family, the cH-terminated AT831cH ships in Audio-Technica's ATW-3211/831 wireless system for body-pack transmitter use.
