Product Overview

The Audio-Technica ATW-3211/831 is a wireless lavalier microphone system for presenters and lecturers in conference rooms, training rooms, and houses of worship. This 3000 Series (fourth generation) package combines the ATW-R3210 true diversity receiver and ATW-T3201 body-pack transmitter with the AT831cH cardioid condenser lavalier. As a frequency-agile UHF bodypack wireless system in the 470–530 MHz (DE2) band, it offers a 60 MHz tuning range for reliable multi-channel coordination in commercial AV installations.

Product Description

The AT831cH cardioid lavalier is well suited to reinforced rooms because its directional pattern rejects off-axis sound, helping maintain gain-before-feedback when loudspeakers are active. Clipped to a lapel, it keeps a clean speech signal for lecture capture, sound reinforcement, and conferencing.

Audio-Technica ATW-3211/831 3000 Series wireless lavalier system

On the RF side, the ATW-R3210 receiver scans available frequencies and IR-syncs the chosen channel to the transmitter, and a backup frequency can be recalled from the transmitter button if interference appears. If a hands-free headworn capsule fits the application better, the comparable ATW-3211/892X headworn system uses the same receiver and transmitter.

For AV system integration, the half-rack ATW-R3210 mounts in a standard rack and provides balanced XLR (+14 dBV) and unbalanced ¼″ (+8 dBV) outputs into a DSP, mixer, or matrix. The transmitter adds a switchable high-pass filter and gain in 2 dB steps so each channel can be matched to the talker and the room.

Key Features

  • AT831cH cardioid lavalier — The directional capsule rejects off-axis noise to improve gain-before-feedback in reinforced conference rooms and worship spaces.
  • Frequency-agile true diversity UHF — A 60 MHz tuning range in the 470–530 MHz band supports multi-channel coordination across a facility.
  • IR frequency sync — The receiver scans and pushes the selected frequency to the transmitter by infrared, speeding multi-system setup.
  • Backup frequency recall — A pre-assigned backup channel can be engaged from the transmitter if interference occurs mid-session.
  • Rack-mount receiver with balanced output — Half-rack form and balanced XLR output simplify integration into commercial AV racks and DSP front ends.
  • OLED displays — Receiver and transmitter screens give clear readout of frequency, battery, and audio level.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which frequency band is this system?

DE2, tuning across 470–530 MHz with a 60 MHz tuning bandwidth. Confirm the band is clear and legal for wireless microphone use in your region before deployment.

Why choose a cardioid lavalier over omnidirectional?

A cardioid lavalier like the AT831cH rejects off-axis sound, which helps control feedback in rooms with active loudspeakers. Omnidirectional lavaliers are more forgiving of placement but offer less rejection.

How does it connect to our AV system?

The receiver outputs balanced audio on XLR and unbalanced on ¼″ to feed a DSP, mixer, or matrix. The half-rack receiver mounts in a standard rack with appropriate hardware.

Can multiple systems run together?

Yes. The wide tuning range and the receiver's scan function support coordinating multiple compatible channels in the same space.

What powers the transmitter?

The ATW-T3201 body-pack transmitter runs on two AA batteries, with status shown on the OLED displays.

What warranty and support are provided?

Audio-Technica offers a limited warranty; refer to their current terms for coverage and duration. Creation Networks assists with warranty and integration support on orders placed with us.
