What is the AUDAC NIO240 Dante breakout box?
The AUDAC NIO240 is a PoE-powered Dante/AES67 network I/O mixing breakout box with four mic/line inputs and a built-in Bluetooth receiver. It puts analog microphones and line sources onto a Dante network at the point of use, with mixing and DSP applied before the signal is transmitted. Configuration is handled in AUDAC Touch, and the compact S-box enclosure mounts under a desk, on a wall, above a ceiling or in a 19" rack with MBS accessories.
How does the AUDAC NIO240 Dante breakout box work?

The NIO240 provides four 3-pin Euro terminal block inputs that switch between microphone and line level, with +48 V phantom power available for condenser microphones. A Bluetooth 4.2 receiver adds a wireless source, and a 10-channel mixer combines all inputs onto four Dante/AES67 output channels. AUDAC designed the NIO series to process audio where the signal originates, so gain, automatic gain control, maximum volume, noise gate and WaveTune EQ are set on the device rather than at the receiving end, which saves channels on the network. All settings are configured through the AUDAC Touch app. The unit is powered by standard PoE (IEEE 802.3af) and draws only 3.54 W, so a single network cable carries audio, control and power. A Bluetooth antenna is included, and AUDAC lists the unit as compatible with the BAE100 extender kit for higher gain and reception range. For mounting, the MBS1xx setup box accessories include the MBS101T tabletop/wall/ceiling mount and the MBS101R rack-mount kit. Pair it with the NIO204 for four line outputs or the NIO222 for mixed I/O on the same Dante network.
What are the key features of the AUDAC NIO240 Dante breakout box?
- 4 mic/line inputs — Each 3-pin terminal block input switches between microphone and line level.
- +48 V phantom power — Phantom power on the inputs supports condenser microphones without external supplies.
- 4 x 4 Dante/AES67 channels — The box transmits and receives audio on any Dante or AES67 network.
- On-board mixing and DSP — A 10-channel mixer with gain, AGC, noise gate and WaveTune EQ processes audio before it reaches the network.
- Bluetooth 4.2 receiver — An integrated receiver adds wireless playback from phones and laptops.
- PoE powered — IEEE 802.3af PoE supplies the 3.54 W draw over the network cable.
- AUDAC Touch control — All input, mixer and output settings are configured from the AUDAC Touch app.
- Flexible mounting — MBS1xx accessories mount it under a desk, on a wall, above a ceiling or in a 19" rack.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which networks is it compatible with?
The NIO240 transmits and receives four channels on Dante and AES67 networks, so it works with Dante-enabled DSPs, amplifiers and consoles from AUDAC and other manufacturers.
Does it need a separate power supply?
No. It is powered by PoE (IEEE 802.3af) and consumes 3.54 W, so any standard PoE switch port can run it.
Can I connect condenser microphones?
Yes. Each input switches between mic and line level, and +48 V phantom power is available for condenser microphones.
How is it configured?
Gain, AGC, noise gate, WaveTune EQ and the 10-channel mixer are set through the AUDAC Touch app.
How is it mounted?
Use the MBS1xx setup box accessories, such as the MBS101T for desk, wall or ceiling mounting, or the MBS101R for a 19" rack.
What warranty does it carry?
AUDAC does not list warranty terms on the product page for this model. Contact Creation Networks for current manufacturer warranty coverage before you order.
