The AUDAC KYRA12/B is a passive 12 x 2" column speaker that packs 12 aluminium-cone 2-inch full-range drivers into a slim aluminium enclosure, finished in black. It connects to a 12 Ω amplifier channel or on a 70V/100V constant-voltage line through its built-in multi-tap transformer. How does the AUDAC KYRA12/B work?

A column array works by stacking identical drivers in a vertical line. Their outputs combine in phase straight ahead and cancel above and below, so the AUDAC KYRA12/B throws a wide, flat sheet of sound across the seating area instead of into the ceiling and back walls. AUDAC specifies the dispersion at 174° horizontally and 9° vertically (−6 dB, averaged 1–4 kHz), which is the band that carries speech consonants. Less energy on reflective surfaces means less reverberation, better speech intelligibility and more gain before feedback for nearby microphones.

The included two-way revolving bracket pans the column up to 42° left or right and tilts it down up to 13°, so the beam can be aimed at the listeners from a side wall or column. Power taps are selected with a rotary switch on the rear of the speaker, so the installer sets the 70V/100V tap without removing the grille. Sensitivity is 92 dB (1W/1m) with frequency range of 120 Hz–20 kHz (−10 dB).
