What is the AUDAC APG20MK2 active audio receiver?
The AUDAC APG20MK2 is an active audio receiver gateway that converts bus-transmitted audio back to standard line and microphone level signals. Paired with AUDAC wall input units, it carries two audio channels (line and microphone) up to 984 ft (300 m) over standard UTP CAT5E or better. Its RCA and XLR outputs feed any amplifier, preamplifier or mixer input, making it a practical way to extend wall-plate inputs in conference rooms, training rooms and multi-purpose spaces.
How does the AUDAC APG20MK2 active audio receiver work?

The APG20MK2 receives a differential audio bus on an RJ45 connector. That single cable carries both audio channels, an RS-485 data channel and 24 V DC power to the transmitter end, so the wall input needs no local power supply. Because the bus uses a differential input with increased voltage levels, the received signal is insensitive to noise, interference and attenuation over long runs. Standard reach is 984 ft (300 m); with additional external power supplies, AUDAC rates distances up to 1,969 ft (600 m). The line channel leaves on dual RCA connectors and the microphone channel on an XLR connector with a switch for 0 dB or -40 dB output level, so it can feed either a line or mic input on the downstream equipment. The RS-485 signals are passed to an RJ45 output so they can be daisy-chained to the controlled equipment. The unit sits in AUDAC's S-Box modular aluminum enclosure, and optional MBS1xx brackets allow desk, closet or 19" rack installation. A PSD241 24 V power supply is included, and the ARJ03P junction box is listed by AUDAC as an optional accessory.
What are the key features of the AUDAC APG20MK2 active audio receiver?
- Two-channel transmission — carries one line and one microphone channel over a single twisted-pair cable.
- 984 ft standard reach — covers up to 300 m over UTP CAT5E or better, extendable to 600 m with additional power supplies.
- Noise-resistant bus — the differential input with increased voltage levels resists interference over long cable runs.
- Powers the wall input — the bus delivers 24 V DC to the transmitter end, so no local supply is needed at the wall.
- RCA and XLR outputs — dual RCA line output and a switchable 0 dB / -40 dB XLR microphone output suit any input type.
- RS-485 pass-through — data on the bus is linked to an RJ45 output for daisy chaining to controlled equipment.
- S-Box enclosure — the modular aluminum housing accepts optional desk, wall and 19" rack brackets.
- Power supply included — the PSD241 24 V switching supply ships with the unit.
- Warranty — AUDAC lists a 5-year warranty for the APG20MK2.
