What is the AUDAC APC100MK2 configuration and control unit?
The AUDAC APC100MK2 is a universal configuration and control unit that links AUDAC "smart" devices such as matrix systems, mixers, paging consoles and wall panels into one manageable system. It provides TCP/IP, RS-232 and RS-485 ports in a compact S-Box enclosure, so integrators can configure, update, back up and control connected devices from a computer. It also works as a serial-to-TCP/IP gateway for bringing non-networked audio equipment into a control system.
How does the AUDAC APC100MK2 configuration and control unit work?

The APC100MK2 sits between your network and the AUDAC devices on site, communicating over Ethernet (RJ45), RS-485 on two RJ45 ports and RS-232 on a DB9 connector. Through it, complex system configurations and firmware updates can be made quickly, and complete setups can be backed up or duplicated to another site. Voice-file messages and screensavers can be uploaded to connected devices using only the APC100MK2 and a computer. An internal real-time clock, synchronised with an internet time server, drives time-controlled events in external devices such as scheduled announcements. The AUDAC system manager software controls the unit and gives full configuration access to every connected smart device. As a gateway, it converts serial commands to TCP/IP and back, so audio sources and power amplifiers without native networking can join an automation or room control system. It runs from 24V DC with the included PSD242 switching supply, and provides 4 AUDAC Touch socket connections. Optional S-Box brackets such as the MBS101T tabletop/wall mount or MBS101R rack kit allow desk, closet or 19" rack installation. Typical partners include the MTX48 and MTX88 audio matrix processors and SMQ-series amplifiers such as the SMQ350.
What are the key features of the AUDAC APC100MK2 configuration and control unit?
- Three control interfaces — TCP/IP, RS-232 and RS-485 ports let the unit talk to every smart AUDAC device in an installation.
- Central configuration — System settings and firmware updates for connected devices can be applied from one point.
- Backup and duplication — Complete configurations can be saved and copied to identical installations to cut commissioning time.
- File uploads — Voice-file messages and screensavers can be loaded into connected devices with just the unit and a computer.
- Real-time clock — An internal clock synchronised to an internet time server triggers time-based events in external devices.
- Serial-to-IP gateway — The unit converts serial commands to TCP/IP and back to integrate non-networked equipment into automation systems.
- AUDAC Touch connectivity — Four socket connections are available for AUDAC Touch control.
- Flexible S-Box mounting — Optional brackets allow desk, closet or 19" rack installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which devices can the APC100MK2 control?
It works with a wide range of AUDAC smart devices, including matrix systems, mixers, paging consoles and wall panels, over TCP/IP, RS-232 or RS-485.
Can it connect third-party control systems?
Yes. It acts as a gateway that converts serial communication to TCP/IP and back, which helps integrate audio sources and amplifiers without built-in networking into an automation system.
What software is used to configure it?
AUDAC system manager software manages the APC100MK2 and provides configuration access to the smart devices connected to it.
How is it powered and mounted?
It runs on 24V DC from the included PSD242 supply. Optional S-Box brackets, such as the MBS101T or MBS101R, mount it on a desk, in a closet or in a 19" rack.
Does it keep time for scheduled events?
Yes. An internal real-time clock synchronises with an internet time server and can trigger time-controlled events in external devices.
