Product Overview
The Attero Tech by QSC AXPIO is a two-channel Axiom Series analog audio expander that extends portable and local audio sources into an installed AV system over standard, non-networked CAT-5 cabling. It pairs with Axiom single-gang wallplates to bring USB, Bluetooth, or XLR audio inputs from a room location back to a mixer, DSP, or other audio destination. Its two Flex I/O channels can be configured as inputs, outputs, or a mix, making it a flexible point-to-point analog audio extension solution for conference rooms and huddle rooms. With RS-232 control connectivity, the AXPIO integrates cleanly into a networked AV control environment such as the Q-SYS Ecosystem.
Product Description

The Axiom Series provides a simple, flexible, and cost-effective approach to point-to-point analog audio extension where a full networked-audio deployment is not required. The AXPIO audio expander offers two Flex I/O channels, configurable as 2x0, 1x1, or 0x2, and pairs with up to two Axiom wallplates, letting an integrator bring portable audio devices into a room's audio system using inexpensive, readily available CAT-5 cabling rather than dedicated audio home-runs. The single 8P8C connection carries balanced line-level analog audio, RS-232 control, and 24V DC power on one cable run. Because the link is point-to-point and analog, the AXPIO is well suited to huddle rooms, conference rooms, and presentation spaces that need a clean connection point for laptops, phones, and microphones at the wall. Each expander also provides RS-232 connectivity for control integration into a networked AV system, allowing the device to participate in a larger control design such as the Q-SYS Ecosystem. It pairs naturally with a Q-SYS processor such as the QSC Core 8 Flex.
Key Features
- Two-channel Flex I/O — Provides two configurable analog audio channels (2x0, 1x1, or 0x2) for bringing room-level sources into an installed AV system.
- Point-to-point CAT-5 extension — Extends balanced line-level audio over standard, non-networked CAT-5/6 cabling for low-cost installation.
- Single-cable power and control — Carries audio, RS-232 control, and 24V DC power over one 8P8C connection to simplify wiring.
- Axiom wallplate pairing — Pairs with up to two Axiom single-gang USB, Bluetooth, or XLR wallplates for flexible input options.
- Adjustable gain staging — Input gain ranges from -4 dB to +20 dB and output gain from 0 dB to +24 dBu for proper level matching.
- RS-232 control connectivity — Integrates into a networked AV control system such as the Q-SYS Ecosystem.
Typical Applications
- Huddle room — Wall-located connection point for portable BYOD audio sources over a single CAT-5 run.
- Conference room — Analog audio extension from the wall to a rack-mounted DSP or mixer without dedicated home-runs.
- Boardroom — Clean integration of presenter laptops and devices into the room AV system.
- Training room — Local microphone and program inputs extended over inexpensive structured cabling.
- Multi-purpose room — Flex I/O configurability supports changing room source requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the AXPIO do?
It extends two channels of analog audio between an Axiom wallplate and a mixer, DSP, or other destination over standard CAT-5/6 cabling, providing a clean room-level connection point for portable audio devices.
Does it require a Dante or Q-SYS audio network?
No. The AXPIO uses point-to-point analog extension over non-networked CAT-5/6. It can be controlled and integrated into a Q-SYS or other networked AV system via RS-232.
What wallplates does it work with?
It pairs with up to two Axiom single-gang wallplates offering USB, Bluetooth, or XLR audio inputs.
How is it powered?
Power, audio, and RS-232 control all travel over the single 8P8C cable run, with the device receiving 24V DC, simplifying installation.
