Product Overview

The AtlasIED BlueBridge BB-88 is an 8-input by 8-output DSP audio processor designed for conference room audio installation, presentation spaces, and multi-zone commercial sound systems. Its 48 kHz, 40-bit floating point DSP engine and open architecture, drag-and-drop programming software give system designers full control over signal routing and processing without fixed templates. Ethernet connectivity provides cost-effective TCP/IP third-party control and simple network configuration. For commercial AV integrators and facilities teams that need dependable analog DSP processing without Dante networking, the BB-88 is the core of an affordable, capable system.

Product Description

AtlasIED BB-88 8 Input x 8 Output DSP Audio Processor

AtlasIED BlueBridge networkable DSP devices are engineered for mission-critical commercial audio system design across video conferencing rooms, houses of worship, presentation rooms, courtrooms, restaurants, room combining, multi-zone paging, and background music applications. The BB-88 provides eight software-selectable microphone or line inputs and eight line outputs on Phoenix-style connectors, with high-quality THAT Corporation microphone preamps and 24-bit converters delivering an ultra-low noise floor and 110 dB dynamic range. The 40-bit floating point DSP engine prevents the digital clipping common in fixed-point processors while providing processing headroom for complex designs. Processing modules include parametric, graphic, and anti-feedback EQ; Butterworth, Linkwitz-Riley, and Bessel crossovers with 6 to 48 dB-per-octave slopes; gain-sharing and gating auto-mixers; matrix, standard, LR, and LCR mixers; signal generators; and compressor, expander, limiter, and ducker dynamics. The processor needs a network connection only during setup and when control is required, so it also fits standalone applications such as live speech systems, and when networked, every BlueBridge processor is auto-recognized and controllable. The companion BluePanel software lets designers create custom user interfaces and program wall controllers, including the BB-TOUCH7 touch panel, so end users adjust volume, sources, and room combining without access to the underlying DSP configuration. AtlasIED also offers pre-configured design templates through its BlueBridge training program for active customers. If your design calls for Dante audio networking, see the BB-88DT Dante version, or browse our full AtlasIED collection for amplifiers and loudspeakers to complete the system.

Key Features

  • 8x8 Mic/Line I/O — Eight software-selectable mic or line inputs and eight line outputs on Phoenix connectors cover most conference room and multi-zone designs.
  • 40-Bit Floating Point DSP Engine — Runs at 48 kHz and prevents digital clipping while processing advanced algorithms in complex system designs.
  • Open Architecture Software — Drag-and-drop programming gives system designers full flexibility instead of fixed processing templates.
  • THAT Corp Microphone Preamps — High-quality preamps and 24-bit converters deliver an ultra-low noise floor with 110 dB dynamic range.
  • TCP/IP Third-Party Control — Ethernet connectivity enables cost-effective integration with control systems and room automation.
  • Full Processing Library — Auto-mixers, matrix mixers, EQ, anti-feedback, crossovers, delays, duckers, compressors, expanders, and limiters in one platform.
  • BluePanel Custom Interfaces — Designers build end-user control pages and program wall controllers such as the BB-TOUCH7 to prevent unauthorized changes.
  • Four Logic Inputs/Outputs — Contact-closure integration with paging, room combining, and control workflows.
  • 48V Phantom Power — Software-enabled per input for condenser microphones.
  • Safety Listed to UL60065 — Meets commercial installation safety requirements for rack equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the BB-88 and the BB-88DT?

Both share the same 8x8 analog I/O and DSP engine; the BB-88DT adds a Dante digital audio network interface. Choose the BB-88 for analog-only designs and the BB-88DT for Dante audio networks.

Does the BB-88 need a permanent network connection?

No. It must be networked during setup and whenever control is required, but it can run standalone in applications where network control is unnecessary, such as live speech systems.

How do end users operate the system day to day?

Designers use BluePanel software to build custom control interfaces and to program wall controllers like the BB-TOUCH7, giving users volume, source, and room-combine control without exposing the DSP configuration.

Can it integrate with Crestron or other control systems?

Yes. The BB-88 supports TCP/IP third-party control over Ethernet for AV system integration with room control platforms.

What do the optional wall controllers require?

BlueBridge DSP units operate on any network, while the optional control accessories require a PoE network switch.

What warranty and support come with it?

AtlasIED provides a 36-month warranty from date of purchase, and Creation Networks offers design assistance and post-sale support for BlueBridge installations.
