What is the Allen & Heath AH-QU-6D digital mixer?
The Allen & Heath AH-QU-6D is the Dante version of the Qu-6, a 96kHz digital mixer with 24 mic preamps, 16 XLR line outputs, 24+1 motorised faders and a built-in 16x16 Dante interface. It mixes 38 inputs into 12 mixes, 4 matrices and main LR. The Qu-6D Dante mixer fits houses of worship, auditoriums and corporate venues where the console has to exchange audio with networked DSPs, amplifiers, recorders and overflow rooms.
How does the Allen & Heath AH-QU-6D work?
A dedicated locking EtherCON port carries 16x16 Dante channels at 48kHz or 96kHz, patchable to any input or output. That lets the mixer pick up networked wireless receivers, feed a Dante DSP or amplifier, and send program audio to lobby or overflow spaces without extra interface hardware. Allen & Heath offers a 32x32 Dante upgrade add-on for larger networks.
Every other Qu-6 feature is present: 24 preamps, 24+1 faders on 4 layers, six RackExtra FX engines, a 32-channel Automatic Mic Mixer and a 7-inch touchscreen. The 128x128 SLink port stays free for stageboxes and Everything I/O, while USB-C provides 32x32 multitrack audio and the SD slot records up to 16 tracks at 96kHz. Free remote apps cover Windows, macOS, iOS and Android.
